Thumper Mini Puzzle (Disney's Bambi)

Brand: Paladone Products

Pieces: 100
Size:  18cm x 22cm

Product Code: -

Well, as per usual, I have struggled to find a suitable puzzle image for my Easter post. Even though I thought I had some bunny, chocolate and easter egg-themed  designs in my collection, I wasn't able to find and complete them in time for today's post. Maybe I need to search today, do them, and then have them on standby waiting for next year!

I was, however, able to find a photo of a mini puzzle that I completed a while ago of Bambi's little rabbit buddy Thumper, which I suppose will have to do for the Easter theme this time round.

I picked up this shaped puzzle through Australia Post and it was relatively quick to do but the pieces were a little loose when the puzzle was put together. So it was enjoyable enough but not as good as it could have been.

Have you ever purchased a puzzle only to be disappointed by the less-than-stellar quality of the pieces?

Tell me your thoughts on this!

Until next time, have a safe and happy Easter and enjoy all the chocolate! xo

Underwater Wonders

Brand: Ravensburger

Pieces: 100 XXL
Size:  49cm x 36cm

Product Code: 129720

We're starting to approach the end of the year and now a lot of puzzle-selling businesses are starting to offer sales on their stock in the lead-up to Christmas. Others, like Reverie Puzzles, are launching new collections.

If you're trying to be good and stop purchasing puzzles, this is an absolute nightmare! (But of the good kind, if there's such a thing)

Do you tempt fate and browse in case there's something you see that you want at a discounted price? Do you check out the new collection so that you can add to what you already own? Do you buy more, knowing that you don't even have the time or storage space required for any new additions?

This is the dilemma I'm facing right now!

If my husband knew that I was looking at sales and more puzzles, let's just say he wouldn't be too happy with me right now... Will have to keep it all on the down low..😐

Meanwhile, I have decided to put up the above puzzle today- because I am no longer the only one in my house who loves to put together jigsaw puzzles! My three-year-old daughter is now very much into the hobby and has tackled and completed this puzzle by herself, even though I originally thought it would be much too hard for her. She loves it! As do I, because the design is by Demelsa Haughton and who doesn't love her whimsical illustrations?!

I'm going to head off now, and try and talk myself out of looking at purchasing yet more puzzles! Have a great week!

Disney Colour Palette

Brand: Ravensburger

Pieces: 100XXL
Size: 49cm x 36cm

Product Code: 133321

I was in the mood for some Disney today, so what better puzzle than a bright and colourful one that features a multitude of characters?!

As you've probably realised, I don't discriminate when it comes to piece counts in jigsaw puzzles- I'm happy to do smaller count or larger count, as long as I like the image. This was one of the smaller count ones that I came across that is likely aimed at young children, but I couldn't resist the design. It's bright, fun, and cute- all winners in my book!

Not only that, but it was super quick to do and had extremely large pieces so it would be perfect for young children just getting into puzzling.

Do you prefer puzzles that have a smaller amount of pieces or would you rather stick with regular 500/1000 piece count puzzles?

Adventurous Spirit

Brand:
Ravensburger

Pieces: 100 XXL
Size: 49cm x 36cm

Product Code: 104093

Like many people the world over, I was saddened yesterday to hear the news that Queen Elizabeth II had passed. She was such an iconic role model and a beautiful woman in so many ways. It's hard to believe that she is gone now, especially after having reigned as Queen for my whole lifetime, and that of my parents too!

I have two puzzles in my stash that feature her and unfortunately, I haven't gotten around to doing them yet, despite having owned one of them for years! I have the Eurographics one that features a younger Queen sitting on her throne, and I have the more recent Winning Moves one, which is a montage of lots of different images throughout the years. I was going to buy a few that celebrate her jubilee but they may be harder to come by now, unless they re-release them as a commemorative thing. Anyway, because I have not yet done those puzzles, I have decided to put up this one of Aladdin's Princess Jasmine instead. I realise there's no way that they can really compare, but Jasmine is one of my favourite Disney Princesses, and that's the closest to royalty that I could find in my completed stash at such short notice!

This puzzle is only 100 extremely large pieces, but I loved the image and couldn't resist purchasing it. I've listed it for sale, but if no one buys it, I'd be happy to keep it for my daughter if she one day decides she wants it.

Now I'll have to fast-track my Queen Elizabeth II puzzle-doing.

Rest peacefully beautiful soul xo

T-Rex On The Prowl

Brand: Puzzlebug

Pieces: 100
Size: 22cm x 28cm

Product Code: -

I thought I'd go with a quick and easy one today- only 100 pieces!

The new Jurassic World: Dominion film has been released and although I haven't yet seen it, I thought this puzzle would be relevant.  Yes, these puzzles are cheap quality, but they have many interesting images and designs, and I still enjoy doing them!

This one has been sitting in my collection of photos for a while so I thought I'd put it up today. I might put up something a bit more challenging next week- I'm just running a bit behind today...

Paper Clips

Brand:
 Impossipuzzle

Pieces: 100
Size: 38cm x 26cm

Product Code: -

I have decided that from  now on I am going to try and make a conscious effort to put up puzzles that have a relevance to something that has happened/is happening during the week.

For example, if it's National Donut Day, I'll try and put up a puzzle representing everyone's favourite baked good- the donut!

This was something I originally tried to do all those years ago when I started this blog/instagram crossover, and I'm sad to say that I've fallen behind dramatically.

I have so many puzzles to do that can fit themes in this way, and they just get lost amongst all the others I buy.

This may also be a good way to get myself to complete older ones I may have forgotten about, and somehow make my way through my stash! Here's hoping!

Anyway, today is National Burger Day and unfortunately I wasn't prepared so I don't have a relevant picture. But tomorrow appears to be National Paperclip Day (in Australia anyway, who would have thought?) so I have located a picture of this puzzle I did once. Success!

This was a cheap quality puzzle and it was really obvious through the thin cardboard, but the image was OK in the end. I can't really remember much else about it to tell you the truth...

We'll see how I go with this endeavour next week!

Running Horse Buddies

Brand: Puzzlebug
Pieces: 100
Size: 22cm x 28cm
Product Code:  -

During the week it was the Geelong Cup Public Holiday. As a casual worker, I got the day off work but besides that, it just felt like any ordinary day. Usually I would see photos online of friends that had attended the races, or see people's sweepstakes for the event, but there wasn't anything this year because the Geelong Cup wasn't open to the public. I didn't even realise the race had run till that evening- there was hardly any fanfare around it this year!

But I have decided to put up a picture of a puzzle I did of running horses, just to give it a look in (especially since I got a day off for it). The above puzzle was only 100 pieces, and was through the Puzzlebug brand (which are very hard to find nowadays since they are no longer readily available at Kmart). The quality was cheap as you'd expect but the image quality was good.

I have a few more of these smaller piece counts to do and then I'll be done with my collection unless something else pops up!

Hey Sup

Brand: Cra-Z-Art
Pieces: 100
Size: 33cm x 25cm
Product Code:  -

Hey Sup?

Haha wanna know the reason for today's puzzle? It's AFL Grand Final day and the contesting teams are the Bulldogs (as above) and Melbourne. I haven't followed the footy in years but I thought I should put up something of relevance today and this was the only puzzle that really fit the bill. I honestly don't care who wins. Football is just one of those things that I've turned away from over time...

The above puzzle was part of a series (I think I've posted at least one other from it in the past) that was photographed by Keith Kimberlin. He has done many other dog and cat portraits, which were released as a 100 piece per puzzle collection- 6 in all. They're cute and good for something different. Quality was cheap as expected for the price and brand, but you get some cute stickers with the pack too!

Sometimes you just need to do a smaller piece puzzle for a quick fix...

Star Wars: Rebel Heroes

Brand:
Buffalo

Pieces: 100
Size: 38cm x 28cm
Product Code:  -

Well this is somewhat out of the ordinary- I'm posting on a day that isn't Saturday morning!

But there is a reason- it's May the Fourth- and as any self-respecting fan knows, that means it's Star Wars Day!

The above puzzle is my contribution to the day.

May the Fourth be with you!

Cute Giant Panda

Brand:
Puzzlebug

Pieces: 100

Size: 22cm x 28cm
Product Code: -

How cute are Giant Pandas? I was going to put this picture up a few months ago following the news that a Panda had given birth to twins at a zoo somewhere overseas, but obviously that never eventuated and I ended up putting up something else instead.

Having remembered it now, I have decided to put the photo up.

This was a cheap Puzzlebug puzzle, so the quality wasn't particularly great, but despite this, I still continue to buy them for their images and designs. They always look so appealing! Oh well...

Cute Cupcakes

Brand: Puzzlebug
Pieces: 100
Size: 22cm x 28cm
Product Code:  -

I feel like today is a cupcakes kind of day.

Who doesn't love pretty-looking baked goods?

The above image is just a cheap brand from Kmart but they always have interesting designs which are alright for the quality and price.

This is one of my last few days off left before I head back to work full time following the Corona-virus pandemic so I'll be more than happy to sit and eat a few of these before heading back. I'm sure I'll be able to drop the weight from consuming so much extra food while I'm there and walking around all day!

I'm actually quite surprised that my long stint of less work is almost over and yet I didn't get that much extra puzzling done during this time. I definitely had plenty of puzzles to work on- enough for a few lifetimes at least!- but I just never got around to doing much.

Maybe cos I was focusing on other projects? Or on social media too much? Or cos I ran out of boards to do them on for a short while? Who knows?! I definitely have a few sitting around that I need to photograph though so I can get onto that when the light is good and then find somewhere to get them developed for my album.

In the meantime, enjoy the cute cupcakes above (or a real alternative if you're able)

Majestic Tiger

Brand: Puzzlebug
Pieces: 100
Size: 22cm x 28cm
Product Code: -

I thought I'd get topical for today's post and put up the above picture...

Has anyone been watching the Netflix doco-series Tiger King

It has to be the most insane thing I have watched recently!

I am only two episodes in at the moment but I guarantee I will have watched it all by the end of the weekend. I can't believe that the craziness that we have watched is real, and that people can truly be like that! Every episode so far has been so full-on and I can only imagine that it gets more crazy as the series progresses.

The missing limbs. The missing teeth. The cult-like parks. The power-hungry owners of the parks. The poor animals stuck in the middle of it all. It's all just insane!

So I have decided to put up a tiger puzzle for today. Because it's relevant. And it's majestic (as the title suggests).

This puzzle was a cheap Puzzlebug one and the quality was as expected. Vibrant colours and an alright design. We'll see if my puzzle choice for next week is influenced by what I watch over the coming few days...

Live, Laugh, Love Purr

Brand: Cra-Z-Art (Keith Kimberlin Puzzle Collection)
Pieces: 100
Size: 33cm x 25cm
Product Code: -

I am so surprised by this! I was trawling through my puzzle collection, trying to find a puzzle that I could post that would be relevant to Valentine's Day (yesterday) but this was one of the only ones I could find!

I had a few of different Disney scenes where the love interests were together, but no hearts, no chocolates, and no real love-themed puzzles otherwise! I'm definitely going to have to review my collection before next year haha.

This puzzle was a cheap one that I found at Kmart- there were several others in the series- which I thought was sort of relevant for Valentine's Day. It has the word 'love' in it anyway. I think the kitten is cute (in an ugly sort of way), and the design is quite simple- something a little bit different anyway!

How was your Valentine's Day? Did you do something special with your loved one? Or was it a day spent with your friends? Or alone? (No judgements). Hope you had a great day regardless!

Summer Doggy Days

Brand: Puzzlebug
Pieces: 100
Size: 22cm x 28cm
Product Code: -

I'm not sure what the weather is like where you are, but at the moment, we're going through a bit of a heat wave! Over the last few days, we've had temperatures reaching over 40 degrees celcius! Wayyyyy too hot for me! Luckily I've been inside most of the time at work (with air conditioning)  but I've still felt the heat.

I thought I'd put up a 'summery' picture today because of this. This was one of the cheap Puzzlebug puzzles that I came across one day at Kmart. These puzzles usually have images different to those you would normally find, and I thought the above design was relevant to this post. Quick, easy, and relatively good quality for the price, these puzzles are alright for a bit of cheap fun.

Untitled Christmas Puzzle

Brand: Big W Branded
Pieces: 100
Size: 26.3cm x 23.2cm
Product Code: -

When I shop in department stores, I like to look at the puzzle ranges that they stock. Sometimes they have some of the more well-known brands like Ravensburger or Blue Opal, but occasionally you also come across a no-name brand (made for the store that's selling it). This was the case with the above puzzle. I found this one in the Christmas section of Big W and I couldn't see any branding or title on it. Therefore it is now known as the Big W Branded Untitled Christmas Puzzle!

The design was too cute to pass up, and it was only $4! Surprisingly the pieces were good quality and fit together well. A nice little Christmas treat!

On another note, sorry about the super early post! We were meant to be travelling to Sydney again today but industrial action has meant that a lot of Jetstar flights have been cancelled or delayed. The flight my parents and brother were meant to catch tomorrow has been cancelled so they're no longer going. As for us, ours wasn't cancelled until early this morning (when we had already gotten up at quarter to four to get ready!) but we're now catching another morning flight. Unfortunately that means I'm up and awake now for no reason- no point in going back to bed now!- but it also means I had a chance to put this up. You would have had to wait till tomorrow night otherwise!!

Oh well, c'est la vie.

Cuddly Love Birds

Brand: Puzzlebug
Pieces: 100
Size: 22cm x 28cm
Product Code:  -

Well, I said I was probably going to miss posting up a puzzle last week and that was absolutely true! I had a valid excuse though- the wedding of one of my brother's! He married his beautiful fiance and I couldn't be happier for them! Hence the small puzzle post this week of a pair of cute little Love Birds!

This was just a cheap, small-piece puzzle that I picked up at Kmart but the quality was adequate for what I paid and the colours were bright and clear.

Next week I hope to put up a picture of a more substantial puzzle but we'll just have to see how I go...

Mare And Foal

Brand: Puzzlebug
Pieces: 100
Size: 22cm x 28cm
Product Code:  -

This week is the Geelong Cup- a public holiday for my area- and I couldn't be more excited to have the day off! I haven't actually been to the horse races for a long time, since my uni days in fact! But even though I won't be heading to the track, I'll still be making the most of my day. I plan to travel to Melbourne with my mum and go dress-hunting for my brother's wedding next month. Can't wait!

Because I won't be going to the Geelong Cup, the Melbourne Cup (2 weeks later), or any of the Spring Racing Carnival in fact, I thought I would put up this picture now.

This was just a cheap Puzzlebug puzzle but I liked the simple design. The quality was as expected, and it was quick and easy to do.

Unicorno: Stellina (Tokidoki)

Brand: Re-Marks
Pieces: 100
Size: 25.4cm x 25.4cm
Product Code: -

I felt like putting up something bright, simple and cute today- and what better than this little gem from Re-Marks?

Tokidoki is a Japanese-inspired lifestyle brand that features a range of cute characters, including the one above. When I first saw this puzzle, I was going through something of a unicorn phase and I couldn't help but purchase it. This square puzzle is aimed at children, with large pieces and a simple colour pallet. In the cube-shaped box, there was also a poster, an adhesive sheet and a hanging tag, for displaying purposes once the puzzle is complete.

This puzzle was quick to do and it's bold colours make it stand out beautifully.

Little Kitten

Brand: Puzzlebug
Pieces: 100
Size: 22cm x 28cm
Product Code: -

I'm not usually a fan of cats, but this time around, I thought I would share a pic of a puzzle I did not so long ago.

The relevance? Well there are three points:

1. I saw the live-action remake of The Lion King last week, and, not having completed any puzzles of lions recently, thought that this was the closest option to it!
2. There are balls of yarn in this picture which relate to the loom-weaving crafts I am working on at the moment.
3. It's actually quite a cute kitten.

Yep, I know.

I haven't had the chance to do much puzzling lately but I'm hoping to get back into it soon, especially with some of the new additions to my collection which I have recently purchased (despite an already overflowing cupboard). Can't wait to show you what's next in store!!

Lounging Around

Brand: Puzzlebug
Pieces: 100
Size: 22cm x 28cm
Product Code:  -

You know how sometimes you just don't feel like doing anything productive?

That was me this week.

Sure, there were a lot of things that I wanted to get done but I had absolutely no motivation (and it didn't help that I was feeling sick for a few days).

The above image pays homage to my week. I felt like lounging around, much like the cute kitten above.

This is a Puzzlebug puzzle (only 100 pieces) and took all of 5 minutes to complete. Like I mentioned, I wasn't in the mood to do much, so a quick and easy puzzle was the best thing for me at this time!

This was bright, colourful, cute and fun to do, but hopefully I can put up a puzzle of more substance next week!
