Mother And Son

Brand: Mr Bob Puzzles

Pieces: 252
Size: 30cm x 38cm

Product Code: -

Tomorrow is Mother's Day so I thought this puzzle would be appropriate to commemorate the day!

I absolutely love this image-it's so cute! It was designed and illustrated by Australian artist Rebecca Cool, who has collaborated with and released quite a few puzzle designs with Mr Bob Puzzles.

This was one of her designs that jumped out at me.

This wooden puzzle features your usual whimsy pieces like a flower and a heart, but it also has a baby crawling and a onesie in there too.

I haven't done a lot of wooden puzzles- I think all the ones I have done have been from this brand- but I really enjoyed the finish of this one.

If you're celebrating Mother's Day tomorrow, I hope you have a good one!

Mare And Foal

Brand: Puzzlebug
Pieces: 100
Size: 22cm x 28cm
Product Code:  -

This week is the Geelong Cup- a public holiday for my area- and I couldn't be more excited to have the day off! I haven't actually been to the horse races for a long time, since my uni days in fact! But even though I won't be heading to the track, I'll still be making the most of my day. I plan to travel to Melbourne with my mum and go dress-hunting for my brother's wedding next month. Can't wait!

Because I won't be going to the Geelong Cup, the Melbourne Cup (2 weeks later), or any of the Spring Racing Carnival in fact, I thought I would put up this picture now.

This was just a cheap Puzzlebug puzzle but I liked the simple design. The quality was as expected, and it was quick and easy to do.

Tiger Family

Brand: Ravensburger
Pieces: 1000
Size: 50cm x 70cm
Product Code:  191178

If you follow Australian Rules (AFL) football, you will know that today is Grand Final Day,

Contending for the cup are the Adelaide Crows and Richmond Tigers, and, while I don't support either of these teams normally, I'm jumping on the bandwagon for the Tigers. It has been 37 years since Richmond last won a premiership, and it's safe to say that their fans are excited about the game coming up today. I hope that they can do it for Victoria and take home the premiership cup.

Because it's quite difficult to find footy-themed puzzles, I decided to put up this Tiger Family puzzle from Ravensburger to commemorate the team.

This puzzle took a little while to do, considering all of the similar colours in the tiger's fur. I had to try and differentiate between each of the three tigers, and piece them together accordingly. I found it was easier to complete the plant-life on the sides of the puzzle first, then work my way into the centre.

A little bit challenging, this puzzle was nonetheless a pleasure to do and the end result is striking.
