Fairytales Under The Stars

Brand: Reverie Puzzles

Pieces: 1000
Size:  50cm x 70cm

Product Code: -

I have been a keen follower of Reverie Puzzles since I first heard about them many years ago.

Based in my hometown of Geelong, the brand prides itself on producing beautiful book-related jigsaw puzzles, with designs specially commissioned by the owner Melissa (who is an absolutely beautiful person I might add- I've met with her a few times).

I have nearly all of the puzzle designs up to date (not including the newest launch which will be today! Eeee!) and they are ones that I intend to keep rather than sell on.

As mentioned just above, they will be launching their latest collection today at 11am AEST and I'm so excited to add to my collection (lucky it was payday on Monday!)

If you haven't already done one of Reverie's puzzles, you must get your hands on one to try them out. While they are on the pricey side, the quality is exceptional, the artwork is beautiful and you will not be disappointed. You get what you pay for, and this is certainly the case with this brand- you can't go wrong!

Care Bears

Brand: Aquarius

Pieces: 500
Size:  35cm x 48cm

Product Code: 62-228

It's been a turbulent news week, with America joining the overseas war drama and bombing various nuclear sites in Iran during the week.

I hate that there is so much going on like this and that people can't just live peacefully together.

I suppose that's why I'm taking a very simplistic view of it and putting up a cute puzzle of Care Bears- if only more people took their approach and used hugs and love to make the world go round.

This puzzle was quick to do and very cute, especially if you're a fan of the nostalgic series.

Enjoy your weekend, stay warm, and we'll see what happens next week...

Dean Russo: Love Is Power

Brand: Aquarius

Pieces: 500
Size: 35cm x 48cm

Product Code: 62-282

I wanted to put this puzzle up for the month of June- Pride Month- before I miss my chance!

I will be travelling for work over the next two weekends so I may not have the chance to post anything (unless I do it in the middle of the week between travel). Therefore, I think it's best that I put this up now, in case I don't get the opportunity later.

I bought this  puzzle because the image was just so striking. I love the colours, the sentiment and the style of the artwork. It was also the first time I had ever seen the puzzle image so I thought I better get it while it was still available. The pieces fit together perfectly and the quality was wonderful.

I have done quite a few Aquarius puzzles over the years, and I haven't been disappointed with the quality as of yet.

I'm not sure if I'll have the chance to post any more puzzle photos in the next few weeks but I'll certainly try if I am able. If I don't get the chance, I hope your coming weeks are lovely and I'll be back soon with some more puzzle posts  for you!

Green Haven

Brand: Okay Lady

Pieces: 400
Size: 52cm x 52cm

Product Code: -

I'm so disappointed with myself!

I was so sure that I had a Star Wars puzzle photo lying around that I could put up to commemorate Star Wars Day on May the 4th, but I didn't have any available at all (except a Christmas one which I will put up in December). Then I was like, "surely I have something royal to commemorate King Charles' coronation" (which is also happening this week).

But no.

So I have instead put up this tranquil looking image from Okay Lady, featuring a woman tending to her multiple plants.

I have to say, I've started to build a bit of a collection of puzzles featuring women and plantlife. There's just something so therapeutic about it. I have trouble keeping real plants alive so I prefer to buy succulents or lifelike  plastic plants (including plastic succulents) to meet these needs. And now puzzles featuring plants are becoming part of this collection too!

I only have a few puzzles from this brand because they're quite expensive but the quality is lovely and the images are pretty. Next week I plan on being better organised for my Mother's Day post!

Love Equals Love

Brand: Buffalo (Vivid Collection)

Pieces: 300
Size: 38cm x 54cm

Product Code: 22109

It's Pride time!

From the 17th of February until the 5th of March this year, Sydney will be hosting WorldPride, which celebrates Australia's brilliant and diverse LGBTQIA+ community. What better way to embrace this than to put up a puzzle that celebrates love!

I found this puzzle on an American website when they were having a Buffalo sale and the vibrant colours and sentiment stood out to me. I absolutely loved the design, and even though it was a smaller piece count than I usually buy (300 pieces), I had to get it. I just love the illustration!

The pieces fit together perfectly, in the usual Buffalo style. It actually took me a little longer to do than I expected, thanks to the background, but once I had the main parts down, it came together quickly enough.

This was a great little puzzle and I'm glad I purchased it.

Radiate Positivity

Brand: Hinkler

Pieces: 500
Size: 61cm x 45.7cm

Product Code: -

Must I really say more?

As soon as I saw this image (and the other 2 in the collection) I knew I had to do it. I love these modern illustrations (and the messages that they impart). Happily, the quality of the colours, as well as the piece fit, were really good.

Don't you love cheaply priced puzzles that still deliver on quality and style?!

Bright, Bold And Beautiful

Brand: Hinkler

Pieces: 300
Size: 61cm x 45.7cm

Product Code:  -

Happy International Puzzle Day!!! Today is the 29th of January, and this special occasion happens to fall on today- for once I have not missed the day of recognition for one of my favourite past-times!

I thought that the day called for a bright and cheerful looking puzzle picture, and what could be more bright and cheerful than this image from Hinkler? The colours pop and the design is mesmerising and bold. As soon as I saw this design at my local Kmart, I decided to purchase it- even if the quality was on the cheaper side, the design more than made up for it!

Have you got plans for International Puzzle Day? What puzzle will you be doing to celebrate the day?

Broadway Musicals

Brand:
 Re-Marks

Pieces: 1000
Size: 33cm x 99cm
Product Code:  -

I'm so excited! I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before, but I'm a big fan of musicals- I've seen so many over the years in Melbourne and would love to visit Broadway or The West End at some point in my life. I don't have a preference for any particular musical- I've seen everything from Wicked to Annie, and from We Will Rock You to The Lion King

Yesterday I got an email about the Frozen presale starting tomorrow (which will be showing in Melbourne this winter) and got super excited. I loved the film and am really looking forward to seeing a musical adaptation on the stage. I don't know how we'll work it with new baby here, but I'm sure we can arrange something- I have plenty of people willing to offer their babysitting services!

In the meantime, I have decided to put up this puzzle featuring the posters for some very well known Broadway Musicals. I've seen quite a few of these (although there are also some I've never heard of before).

I was a little bit disappointed with the quality of this puzzle however, despite the awesome design. The pieces were cut atrociously- I think the blades must have been blunt, and because of this, I really struggled to put the pieces together. But despite this, I still enjoyed doing it- I've done a few Re-Marks puzzles and that was the only bad one I've had so maybe I was just unlucky. Oh well...

Are you a musicals fan? How many of the above have you seen?

Tokyo Disney Resort 35 Happiest Celebration

Brand: Tenyo
Pieces: 1000
Size: 51cm x 73.5cm
Product Code:  18022

Today I want to share with you the most amazing puzzle and one that I will always keep :)

Two years ago, around this time, my husband and I were on a holiday in Japan (our second time in the country) and, since we hadn't visited Disneyland the previous time, decided to go there to see what it was like. It just so happened to be their 35th birthday celebrations that year (and at the same time, I was turning 31).

While looking around one of their numerous gift shops I discovered this awesome holographic jigsaw puzzle, exclusive to the Disneyland Resort, that celebrated their birthday and which I just HAD TO HAVE!
Needless to say, it became my birthday present, and one that I will never sell. Despite already owning hundreds of puzzles, my hubby gave in and bought me this one. (No doubt cos he knew I'd buy it for myself if he didn't- the fact that he bought it for me made it more special)

So I ended up getting this beautiful puzzle :)

Tenyo is such a high quality brand and they always have amazing designs so I was already onto a winner, plus, like I said, it's holographic so it has a metallic multi-coloured sheen to make it even more different. This is one I doubt I'll ever find anywhere else so I'm so glad I found it while I was there and was able to bring back such good memories with it.

Live, Laugh, Love Purr

Brand: Cra-Z-Art (Keith Kimberlin Puzzle Collection)
Pieces: 100
Size: 33cm x 25cm
Product Code: -

I am so surprised by this! I was trawling through my puzzle collection, trying to find a puzzle that I could post that would be relevant to Valentine's Day (yesterday) but this was one of the only ones I could find!

I had a few of different Disney scenes where the love interests were together, but no hearts, no chocolates, and no real love-themed puzzles otherwise! I'm definitely going to have to review my collection before next year haha.

This puzzle was a cheap one that I found at Kmart- there were several others in the series- which I thought was sort of relevant for Valentine's Day. It has the word 'love' in it anyway. I think the kitten is cute (in an ugly sort of way), and the design is quite simple- something a little bit different anyway!

How was your Valentine's Day? Did you do something special with your loved one? Or was it a day spent with your friends? Or alone? (No judgements). Hope you had a great day regardless!
