The Cheshire Cat (Disney)

Brand: Clementoni

Pieces: 500
Size:  36cm x 49cm

Product Code: 35123

Yesterday (August 8) was World Cat Day and since I had already put up my cat puzzle from Enjoy Puzzles, I had to find a different completed one in my collection to post. Voila! I did this one quite a while ago, featuring the mysterious cat from Disney's Alice In Wonderland. I loved the bright colours and the interesting patterns. Although it was 500 pieces, it was somewhat challenging to do, but I enjoyed the challenge all the same!

Today I'm keeping it relatively short cos it's the Victorian State Puzzle Competition at Malvern Town Hall and I have to prepare for the drive up and then the solo competition which will be held at 2pm. I'm so looking forward to it! Especially since it appears that the puzzle will be from the Cherry Pazzi brand and I haven't yet done a puzzle by them!

Wish me luck and I'll talk to you next week!

Fun Flair

Brand: Galison

Pieces: 500
Size:  50.8cm x 50.8cm

Product Code: -

Happy New Year! Can you believe that 2025 is now here? I haven't really got much planned for today's post- I barely even knew which puzzle I was going to put up! That's why I settled on the above one. It was bright, fun, and relatively quick to do.

I'm going to try and put up more relevant images to the times of the year in future (I know I've said that before but I'm going to try harder this time round). If you have any suggestions for puzzle designs you would like to see, please shoot me a message and I'll see what I can do.

In the meantime, enjoy your holidays (if you're lucky enough to still be on them) and I'll look forward to posting more puzzle images throughout the new year.

Disney Princess: Moana

Brand: Crown

Pieces: 48
Size:  23cm x 26cm

Product Code: 020375

Hi all!

In all the excitement of Halloween a few weeks back, I forgot to say that I was going to be absent the next week (which turned out to be last weekend) cos I was working interstate again. Hope you didn't miss me (or this blog) too much! Because of that, I didn't put up any posts or images and I'm sorry for not giving you the heads up about it. But that is likely the last time that will happen for a while, so never fear!

Today I have decided to put up this image from a quick little cube puzzle I did. It took such a short amount of time to do, because of its piece size but the design image was bright and fun. I think it only cost $2 to buy though 😅😂I've chosen this one after watching the film last night, and in anticipation of the sequel which will be released sometime soon. I'll try and get a more substantial-sized puzzle done and up soon.

Have a great weekend!

House Of Astrology

Brand: Galison

Pieces: 500
Size: 50.8cm x 50.8cm

Product Code: -

Anyone who has followed this blog or my Instagram page will know that I am often drawn to particular designs. I love Disney and popculture images, as well as illustrated designs that use bold and bright colours. Sure, I like many other styles too, but these are my predominant go-tos.

The above puzzle, by Galison, ticks the boxes for illustrated puzzles, as well as my fascination with horoscopes and astrology. I'm the first to tell you that I'm a practical person, and don't believe in the 'properties, spirituality, etc' associated with horoscopes, starsigns, crystals and all that jazz, but I still find it all fascinating. The above puzzle was equally fascinating, and a pleasure to do. It even featured gold foil on the pieces which added an extra sparkle to the design. The pieces fit together well too, which is always a bonus.

Have you done any of the gold foiled puzzle before? They seem to becoming more readily available and I find them so pretty...Let me know your thoughts.. Until next time...

Women Of The World

Brand: Hinkler

Pieces: 500
Size: 61cm x 45.7cm

Product Code: -

Yesterday was International Women's Day, a day when women are celebrated for their contribution to society and all that jazz. Honestly, I don't know how I feel about the day- it feels a bit like a farce to me. I mean, I'm all for celebrating this sort of thing, but dedicating a day (when it should be celebrated every day) seems a bit strange to me.

Regardless, I have put up a puzzle today that features women, in keeping with the theme. This puzzle was just a cheap one to purchase but the overall quality wasn't too bad. The colours were vibrant, the image stood out to me (you know how I love a pretty illustration) and the fit was decent.

On a different topic, how's the weather at your place? We're about to go through a long weekend heat-wave. It will be interesting to see how I go with the warm weather- hope you stay cool this weekend and I'll see you next week with something fresh!

Mixtape Afternoon

Brand: Galison

Pieces: 500
Size: 50.8cm x 50.8cm

Product Code: -

Can you believe we're already approaching the end of February for another year?! The weekends have just been hectic and flying by so fast. Today will be a relatively quiet day but tomorrow my husband is competing in a small triathlon in the morning, and then we'll be attending the wedding of one of my closest friends in the afternoon! Talk about a busy day! There was also a puzzle competition scheduled for tomorrow in Melbourne somewhere which I obviously won't be going to with all that's happening so I'll have to leave it till another time.

That said, today I've decided to put up a puzzle that I did a short time ago (some of my photos are years old so this is a very recent one). The illustration drew me in straight away and reminds me of old-school playlist creation (whereas now I'd just make a playlist using Spotify). I figured it was relevant because of all the music playlists that are going through my mind right now with the approaching events this weekend.

The colours are vibrant, it was a quick one to do, and as I already alluded to, the illustration is fun and bright.

Have you got a busy weekend planned or will you be setting some time aside to do puzzles?

Zodiac Power

Brand: Galison

Pieces: 1000
Size: 68.6cm x 50.8cm

Product Code: -

I felt the need to put up a bright and fun design today, after the muted, pastel palettes of last week's Barbie puzzle, so here it is!

This puzzle from Galison ticks all the boxes for bright colours and interesting graphics. It was fun to put together- each zodiac sign had a specific colour so it almost felt like I was doing twelve mini puzzles and joining them together. I even played a little game with myself as I was doing it, to see which star-sign would be completed first!

I've done a few zodiac/horoscope-themed puzzles even though I generally have no interest in the ideas behind them. I just find them fascinating to do.

Have you done any puzzles like this?

Disney Colour Palette

Brand: Ravensburger

Pieces: 100XXL
Size: 49cm x 36cm

Product Code: 133321

I was in the mood for some Disney today, so what better puzzle than a bright and colourful one that features a multitude of characters?!

As you've probably realised, I don't discriminate when it comes to piece counts in jigsaw puzzles- I'm happy to do smaller count or larger count, as long as I like the image. This was one of the smaller count ones that I came across that is likely aimed at young children, but I couldn't resist the design. It's bright, fun, and cute- all winners in my book!

Not only that, but it was super quick to do and had extremely large pieces so it would be perfect for young children just getting into puzzling.

Do you prefer puzzles that have a smaller amount of pieces or would you rather stick with regular 500/1000 piece count puzzles?

Fish School by Corinne Ferguson

Brand:
Puzzle Collector Art (Lafayette Puzzle Factory)

Pieces: 1000
Size: 51cm x 68cm

Product Code: -

During these colder months, I know a lot of people who are travelling overseas to escape the winter chill.

This time around, I'm lucky enough to be one of them- I will be travelling with my little family (and my husband's family) to beautiful Vanuatu next week! That means I won't be posting next Saturday as I usually do- you'll get a week off from me!

Because I don't have any puzzle images of Vanuatu, I figured the next best option would be to put up a photo of a puzzle I did many years ago (and have not yet posted).

It features a multitude of colourful tropical fish- some of which I hope to see when snorkelling. And if I don't see any like them? It won't matter cos I'll still be in Vanuatu!

This puzzle was so colourful, and quite easy to do in colour/pattern blocks.

Have a great week and I'll see you in a few!

Garden Candy

Brand: Galison
Pieces: 500
Size: 48.26cm x 48.26cm
Product Code: -

You know how sometimes you just feel like doing a puzzle that features a bright, colourful and simple image?

Well, that's how I'm feeling today.

This puzzle by Galison was made up of irregularly-shaped pieces and was relatively quick to do when worked in colour groups. The illustration's colours are vibrant and stand out nicely against the white background. I enjoy doing Galison (and their subsidiary Mudpuppy) puzzles for their sometimes quirky but always lovely designs.

Lazy Sunday

Brand: Gibsons

Pieces: 1000
Size: 68cm x 49cm

Product Code:  G6610

Hi all!

Today I have decided to put up a picture of a Gibsons puzzle that I recently did for the World Puzzle Days 2022 event. It is called Lazy Sunday, which is what I plan on having after the busy birthday festivities of last weekend! Our baby's 1st birthday celebrations were fantastic (and busy, as I said), so not much puzzling happened but we still had a great time.

The above puzzle design is a mixed media style format. I was drawn to the unusual style of the illustration, with its many textures and patterns. I thought it might be difficult to do, but actually putting it together was quite easy (working in sections and blocks). The quality of the pieces was wonderful- they were thick and sturdy. I quite enjoyed doing this puzzle and will more than likely seek out more from the brand in the future.

Bright, Bold And Beautiful

Brand: Hinkler

Pieces: 300
Size: 61cm x 45.7cm

Product Code:  -

Happy International Puzzle Day!!! Today is the 29th of January, and this special occasion happens to fall on today- for once I have not missed the day of recognition for one of my favourite past-times!

I thought that the day called for a bright and cheerful looking puzzle picture, and what could be more bright and cheerful than this image from Hinkler? The colours pop and the design is mesmerising and bold. As soon as I saw this design at my local Kmart, I decided to purchase it- even if the quality was on the cheaper side, the design more than made up for it!

Have you got plans for International Puzzle Day? What puzzle will you be doing to celebrate the day?

I Like Birds

Brand:
Ravensburger

Pieces: 1000
Size: 70cm x 50cm
Product Code:  164196

I was having trouble deciding which puzzle to put up today so I thought I'd go with this colourful and sweet one from Ravensburger which depicts lots of pretty birds in various seasons.

As soon as I saw this design, I knew I had to get it- it's so pretty!

Besides the copious amounts of puzzle dust (Ravensburger has seemed to have a problem with this of late), the puzzle was pretty much perfect- vibrant colours, good fit and quality pieces.

Have you done this puzzle before? What did you think of it?

Gradient

Brand: Clementoni

Pieces: 1000
Size: 69cm x 50cm
Product Code:  39521

I have decided that it's finally time to follow the trend and put up a copy of a gradient puzzle that I have done! I did this one quite a few months ago and have been sitting on the picture for a while. I wanted to post it at some point but so many other puzzles won out each time... until now!

This puzzle was not as challenging as I thought it would be. The colours eased into one another quite well, which allowed me to finish it quite quickly. And oh those colours! So pretty and bright!

This one was by Clementoni but I have seen gradient puzzles from a variety of brands and am interested to know if they differ much in difficulty. I might have to suss it out...

Have you done a gradient puzzle and did you find it challenging?

Disney Sneezy

Brand: Ravensburger

Pieces: 500

Size: 50cm x 50cm
Product Code: 152414

It's no secret that I love Disney puzzles but lately I've noticed that it's some of the minor characters that are getting showcased- and I love it!

Besides the main characters (usually the Disney Princesses), there has been a definite surge in the amount of puzzles I have seen that have been celebrating the Disney Villains. There are so many of these about now (I have done a few) and I can't wait to track down and do some more!

Then there are these ones.

The Seven Dwarfs from Snow White are admittedly important characters to the story, but they don't often get a look in- at least until now! Ravenburger has released a square 500 piece puzzle for each of the dwarfs, as well as one that features all of them. I have previously put up a pic of the Dopey one, and now I've decided to put up Sneezy (since it's Spring and hayfever is about hahaha).

I have all of these in my collection and plan to get them done soon. I've decided to tackle as many smaller count puzzles (500 pieces and less) as I can to free up room for my baby's nursery. I have a couple of months to work on this 'project' so we'll see how much I can clear and get done.

The quality of this one was perfect, as usual, and as you can see, the colours are super vibrant!

Hopefully I'll be able to complete and put up all the others soon...

Pokemon Bubble

Brand: Buffalo
Pieces: 500
Size: 54cm x 38cm
Product Code:  -

I went with a nostalgic puzzle last week by putting up one that I had owned since childhood. Well, I thought I'd continue in that vein with today's puzzle- although this is a different kind of nostalgia. This puzzle is relatively new- I bought it last year- but the content is the part that instils the nostalgia.

I think I mentioned towards the beginning of this blog (quite a few years ago now) that I was a huge fan of the first Pokemon series. Well when I saw this puzzle, I knew I had to get it because although there are some of the newer characters in it, the majority featured are from the first series (and therefore recognisable to me!)

I love the colours and the vibrancy of the design- it really stands out and I thoroughly enjoyed doing it. I'm hoping that as Pokemon continues to grow, a wider variety of designs (in a higher piece count) will be released for puzzling fans. In the meantime, I'm happy to settle for cute ones like this :)
