Well I'm back after a very busy and eventful weekend last week! 

I have decided to put up this puzzle because my brother and new sister-in-law are currently travelling through New Zealand on their honeymoon and they visited Hobbiton (the 'town' where the movie was filmed). 

This puzzle was challenging to do due to the similar sepia-toned colours. It is also not one I would ordinarily do, but a workmate lent it to me- it took him about 6 months to complete on and off and he wanted to see how fast I could do it! It took me about 7 days haha. Good lighting was essential to completing it but I got there in the end! I'm not sure where the puzzle is now- Gav didn't want it back and so the last I saw of it, it was sitting on a table in the lunchroom at work, waiting for a new owner...

Have you seen all the amazing new puzzle designs coming out lately?

I have, and unfortunately, my pay packet is feeling the pinch as I give into temptation and place more and more orders. This has a run-on effect with space issues, especially since I've put puzzling on hold recently to get my entries completed for the Royal Geelong Show, so I really should be trying to show some restraint!

I won't be putting up a post next week cos my weekend will be much too busy- we'll be in Melbourne for some of it at a running event, and then we'll have to hurry back to celebrate the wedding of one of my brothers. No time in our busy schedule! But be assured that I will try my hardest to have another offering the weekend after!

In the meantime, enjoy puzzling, stay out of this currently shocking weather, and I'll see you when I see you!

It's been a big week in the world of Pokemon, with the first drop of the 30th Celebration cards being released on Wednesday. But despite the many Pokemon-themed jigsaw puzzles I have in my collection, I do not have any photos of ones I have recently completed which I could post for the event! I need to get cracking!

Instead, I am putting up this totally unrelated design by Dean MacAdam, featuring characters from the Little Red Riding Hood fairytale. This puzzle has been sitting in my photo folder for quite a while, and although not relevant, is still pretty cool. I have a few of his designs and they always bring a smile to my face with their hidden little details.

I'm starting to get excited... after a hectic few weeks at work, I've just begun a well-deserved two week holiday!

Yay! During some of that time, I will be travelling to Bali with my family for the first time, which means that next week's blog and Instagram posting won't be happening. Instead, I hope to be sipping cocktails poolside or exploring the area around our resort. I wonder if I'll be able to find a puzzle place there? hmmm....

I have a bit of preparation to do before I go however, so I will leave you with this one. We'll be visiting a waterpark while we're there and this is similar to how I imagine it will look..

I've decided to keep with the really girly theme this weekend and go with a make-up spectacular! 

When I first saw this design, I fell in love. I'm not a really girly-girl and my usual make-up routine involves facial moisturiser, mascara and lip balm so I'm far from high maintenance, but I love the colourful and pretty impact this puzzle design has. I couldn't resist purchasing it and I highly enjoyed piecing it together.

Lately I've been fascinated by the amount of 'textured' puzzle designs that have been on the market. These vary in form from mountainous scenes to animals, and appear as either paper-crafted or stitched designs. 

They look incredible when complete and pop out from the design in a way that looks more 3D than anything!

I have to admit that a few may have made it into my home, including the one above. There is so much detail and texture and I absolutely love the look.

In a few days it will be 'Star Wars Day' (aka May the 4th) so I thought I'd put up a puzzle featuring characters from the popular franchise. Although this one also shows characters from Disney and Marvel, I thought it would be relevant to the day. I have done quite a few Star Wars-themed puzzles throughout the years but this was the only photo I had currently that I could use for the upcoming day. 

The quality of this puzzle was quite good and the image was appealing as it represented a mix of characters in celebration of Disney's 100th celebrations. I'm pretty sure I have more Star Wars puzzles in my collection- I just have to get around to finding and doing them! 

50 Must-Watch Movies Bucket List

I used to love watching movies in my downtime while I was studying at school and university - it was the way I relaxed after hitting the books (although my mum probably thinks I spent more time watching films than actually studying!)

So when I saw this puzzle design, the nostalgia hit and I had to do it. I've seen quite a few of these films (although I can't be bothered counting right now to give you an exact amount) and I loved the images used to portray each one. The illustration style really drew me in. This puzzle was fun to do, and took me less time than I expected, considering it's 1000 pieces. It also came in a 'popcorn-style' bucket rather than a normal rectangular box, which created a bit more interest.
