Mickey And Friends

Brand: Crown

Pieces: 300
Size:  61cm x 46cm

Product Code: -

Just quickly putting this one up here today cos I have a four-year-old's party to prepare for! This one seemed fitting cos it looks as though all the characters are in celebration mode!

I don't know what the likelihood will be of doing a post next week either, because I will be travelling early in the morning to a puzzle sale event. Fingers crossed I can sell most of my completed puzzles second hand.

I hope your next few weeks are great- keep puzzling!

Disney Princess: Moana

Brand: Crown

Pieces: 48
Size:  23cm x 26cm

Product Code: 020375

Hi all!

In all the excitement of Halloween a few weeks back, I forgot to say that I was going to be absent the next week (which turned out to be last weekend) cos I was working interstate again. Hope you didn't miss me (or this blog) too much! Because of that, I didn't put up any posts or images and I'm sorry for not giving you the heads up about it. But that is likely the last time that will happen for a while, so never fear!

Today I have decided to put up this image from a quick little cube puzzle I did. It took such a short amount of time to do, because of its piece size but the design image was bright and fun. I think it only cost $2 to buy though 😅😂I've chosen this one after watching the film last night, and in anticipation of the sequel which will be released sometime soon. I'll try and get a more substantial-sized puzzle done and up soon.

Have a great weekend!

Disney Mickey And Friends: True Pals

Brand: Crown

Pieces: 300
Size:  61cm x 46cm

Product Code: -

I decided to delve deeper into the puzzle photo archive for today's offering!

I completed this puzzle in 2021 and until now, haven't posted it. I actually forgot I had done it! This one was a cheap but pleasing little purchase that I made just before the covid pandemic hit, and I completed it during that time. It was cute, quick and fun to do, and the pieces were of OK quality considering the price. I only really bought it because I liked the design.

I haven't really got much more to add at the moment but I'll soon be back into puzzling mode soon, once I have some other projects completed. Until then... keep on puzzling!

Disney Princess Collage

Brand: Ceaco

Pieces: 1000
Size: 68cm x 48cm

Product Code: -

You may have noticed that this post has come out a little later than is the norm- I usually post on a Saturday morning but this weekend I was working and was unable to get it out until now- my first day off! So I've decided to put up a cute puzzle that I did a while ago that represents some of the characters I saw over the weekend! I was working at Melbourne Supanova and saw quite a few cosplay Disney princesses strolling around, hence the above image.

I really enjoyed doing this puzzle- I'm not sure why but stained glass images really appeal to me. Not only do they look super cool but they also provide a bit more of a challenge. I'm one of those people that used to always do the border pieces first, but with ones like this, it's so much easier to get the bulk of the image completed first and then leave the border pieces for the end.

The image design for this one was stunning and vibrant and I really enjoyed piecing it together.

I'll be travelling again over the next few weekends, so my posting will once again be a little bit sporadic. Next weekend I will be attending a Friday wedding and we'll likely be staying the night in the town it's being held, so I probably won't be posting until the Sunday. And the weekend after will see me in Sydney for work once again (so that one may be a Monday afternoon affair (or I might just postpone it until the following weekend, depending on how I feel).

Regardless, know that I will be looking forward to posting up some more puzzle images very very soon...

Until then, take care!

Baby Yoda (Star Wars: The Mandalorian)

Brand: Crown

Pieces: 48
Size: 26cm x 23cm

Product Code:  -

Have you been watching Disney Plus' show, The Book Of Boba Fett

We've been watching it and can't help but feel that we're watching new episodes of The Mandalorian, and that they just haven't changed the title. Boba Fett (the character) has barely appeared in the last two episodes! But that doesn't matter so much, because it means that we get to see Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) again.

This puzzle didn't have a title on the box so I've taken liberties with what I've called it, but it was a nice and quick one to do. The quality was quite cheap as expected but I didn't mind when it meant I got to see that cute little face!

Pets Rock Music

Brand: MB Puzzle (Crown)
Pieces: 1000
Size: 45.7cm x 60.9cm
Product Code: -

This is the last of the puzzles that I have from this series, so I thought I'd put it up today.

Although I can't say I'm a huge fan of the designs, I can appreciate the time spent to recreate each music icon using dogs and cats as the canvases. It is really quite clever, especially with how recognisable the animals are as the person/ band they're meant to be representing.

Once again, the quality for these puzzles was quite good, and the ease of  putting the puzzle together was simple, when you separated the pieces according to each section/ block of the design.

This is a cheap yet well-made brand, with a variety of designs, and I'm sure I'll be purchasing more in the future.

Jurassic World: Yellow T-Rex

Brand: Crown
Pieces: 300
Size: 60.96cm x 45.72cm
Product Code:  018027

Isn't Jurassic Park one of the best films of all time? I'm talking about the original one from the 90's- starring Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum...

While the sequels were OK and the newest ones starring Chris Pratt aren't too bad, I don't think they're anywhere near as iconic and beloved as the first one to grace the silver screen in 1993.

Unfortunately, I have never found a puzzle to commemorate this fantastic movie so a puzzle for Jurassic World will just have to do. This puzzle was produced by Crown and features everyone's favourite dinosaur- the big, bad T-Rex! (as well as some other scaly friends).

The quality of this puzzle was pretty good for the price- with the pieces fitting together well and bold colours. The design isn't too bad either ;) I have a couple more Jurassic World puzzles from this brand which I also hope to eventually put up, featuring different dinosaurs. Should be a fun exercise!

Pets Rock Film

Brand: MB Puzzle (Crown)
Pieces: 1000
Size: 45.7cm x 60.9cm
Product Code: -

I got all four wisdom teeth out during the week, so I've had plenty of time to sit around and do things at home while I recover- there's no way I'm going out in public with puffy swollen cheeks and bruising!

So while I can get a few puzzles done, I also have the chance to watch a few films- hence my choice for today, Pets Rock Film.

In typical fashion, the cats and dogs in this design are dressed up to replicate famous film stars and characters. They are instantly recognisable, which means that the people behind the looks have got themselves sorted! I have put up a Pets Rock puzzle in the past (Pets Rock Fame) and some of the images from this one were used in that one too, although I found this puzzle to take longer due to the film reel and red background. Sometimes the pieces were very similar and it was difficult to find which one went where, but that's all part of the fun.

Besides that, this puzzle was quite easy to do when you sorted the puzzle into each individual 'portrait'. I have one more of these puzzles in my collection- music- and I'll put it up eventually. Until then, we'll see what else I can do...

Pets Rock Fame

Brand: MB Puzzle (Crown)
Pieces: 1000
Size: 45.7cm x 60.9cm
Product Code: -

I decided to put up something a little different today- a puzzle from the Pets Rock franchise that has come about from social media. I found this puzzle (as well as the film and music versions) at Big W, and was fascinated with how they managed to 'dress' the cats and dogs to look like famous icons and celebrities. It was quite disturbing to realise that I recognised most of the 'people' from just a few choice outfits!

The above puzzle is quite easy to do if you sort by each individual outfit or pet colour. The pieces are relatively small, and I was able to fit the entire puzzle on a piece of cardboard (which is sometimes difficult for puzzles over 500 pieces). The pieces fit together quite well but I'm unsure how well it would go if there were large expanses of the same colour to put together.

I already have the other two in this 'series' so it's only a matter of time before I put them up as well. But I don't want to have a Pets Rock overload (the pictures creep me out a little sometimes) so I might wait a bit before posting the next one!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Droids

Brand: Crown
Pieces: 1000
Size: 45.7cm x 60.9cm
Product Code:   017262

I have to admit that I can be a bit of a geek/nerd sometimes, and, over recent years, I have really grown to love the Star Wars franchise. In particular, I love The Force Awakens, the latest one in the saga (I don't really include Rogue One as part of the series, despite where it fits in, because it doesn't feel as though it's part of the saga, even though it is!) With The Force Awakens, we were introduced to BB-8, another lovable droid who works alongside C-3PO and R2-D2, and this puzzle is a wonderful tribute to the three of them.

I have decided to put this one up because the next installment of the Star Wars saga (The Last Jedi) will be released in cinemas this Thursday (December 14, 2017) and I can't wait! My husband and I have already booked tickets to see it at Village Cinemas Gold Class next Sunday- should be good!

This puzzle took me a little longer to do than anticipated- mostly due to the similar shades of the background. There were so many browns, greys and blacks blended together that it was sometimes difficult to work out where each went, and the fact that the picture on the (collector's) tin was lighter in colour didn't really help matters! But I got there in the end (with the help of a lot of natural light) and the actual design turned out to be quite good. The quality of the pieces was alright too, which helped.

I've done a few Star Wars puzzles now, all distributed by different companies, and I'm sure with the release of the next film, there will be plenty more designs to add to the collection...

Disney Collage

Brand: Crown
Pieces: 1000
Size: 45.7cm x 61cm
Product Code:  20088551

I've been doing quite a few Disney-themed jigsaw puzzles of late, so I thought it might be a good idea to put  them up gradually and not have a whole stack of them posted up at the same time!

The above puzzle was a cheap buy from Target but the quality was quite good, with a bright and cheerful design and a majority of the characters represented in the piece. I really like that it included some of the characters that tend to get neglected in Disney-themed montage or collage puzzles, such as Lilo & Stitch and Marie from the Aristocats. The quality of the pieces was good (except for one piece which was cut so closely that one of the round bits threatened to tear off every time I picked it up!), with adequate interlocking.

As I mentioned above, this design was bright, cheerful and very inclusive of many characters which made it immediately stand out as one of the more interesting Disney puzzles available on the market today. It was also smaller than average in terms of finished puzzle size, which is always a win in my book!

Star Wars Collage

Brand: Crown
Pieces: 1000
Size: 45.7cm x 61cm
Product Code:   20088550

Unless you live under a rock, you will know that several days ago was May 4th- AKA Star Wars Day (May The Fourth Be With You). As has been the case over the last few years, the internet was overrun with Star Wars- related memes, photos, puns, and paraphernalia.

So of course it makes sense that I would put up a photo of a Star Wars puzzle I have completed (even if it's a few days late)!

This design features comic book cover images from over the years, set out in an overlapping collage format. The colours are bright, and typical of the imagery from that era. This was a fun puzzle to do and the pieces were of relatively high quality. The design is perfect for fans of Star Wars, comic books and graphic novels, and features all the popular characters and more.

Cupcake (Studio Pets By Myrna)

Brand: Crown
Pieces: 1000
Size: 73cm x 48cm
Product Code:  16661

It was the 91st birthday of my Nonna (Italian grandmother) this week, which I'm sure most of you will agree is quite an achievement!

This puzzle, which combines cute animals with cupcakes (one with a candle!), seemed like a lovely tribute, considering Nonna's former occupation as a chef and her appreciation for baby animals (especially the ducklings).

Studio Pets By Myrna is a business that takes photos of your pets to create fun merchandise products and prints. In this case, they have teamed up with Crown to produce some cute designs for jigsaw puzzles- one of which is pictured above (which I recently completed). Not only are the designs adorable, but they are also made from a good quality cardboard. This one was quite quick to do, with only the similar-coloured fur types giving me trouble on occasion.

If you love cute baby animals and have an appreciation for tasty baked goods, then this puzzle is for you!
