Disney Stitch

Brand:
Arrow Puzzles

Pieces: 500
Size:  52cm x 38cm

Product Code: -

Yesterday (26th June) was a fan-based day that commemorates Disney's Stitch (Experiment 626) from the film Lilo & Stitch. So what better way to showcase this than by putting up a puzzle of the popular little alien. For once I have a puzzle done that relates to the theme!

The above puzzle was untitled on the box but it was still an enjoyable little one to do. The quality was adequate for the price, and the design was appealing.

Are you a fan of the Lilo & Stitch franchise? Have you done any puzzles of them?

Disney D100 Moana

Brand: Ravensburger

Pieces: 300
Size:  27cm x 39cm

Product Code: 133758

I've long been a Disney-loving girl, and as such, when Disney celebrated 100 years, I was all over the puzzles that celebrated this iconic anniversary.

I managed to find and do all the puzzles in the above collection, and as I have recently seen advertising for the live action version of Moana (soon to be released), I have decided to put up the above puzzle.

I absolutely love the film of Moana, and would have to say it's one of my favourites. I'm not sure what exactly draws me in but it's a film I really enjoy, as does my little girl. The above puzzle was a quick and fun one to do, making good use of colour blocks in the illustration. I'll eventually post all the others from this collection, but for now, this will have to do. Enjoy!

Stranger Things Gang

Brand: Buffalo

Pieces: 300
Size:  46cm x 46cm

Product Code: 22702

My plans for a Christmas-themed puzzle December have unfortunately already come to an end!

Although I know I have plenty of puzzles of this style, I haven't had the chance to do any or take photos of them yet for this blog, and so that little idea comes to a complete full stop.

Instead, I have put up a puzzle I purchased some time ago of the gang from the Netflix hit show Stranger Things (don't ask me what season, they've all blurred together since I last watched it and I'll have to watch a serious recap before starting the latest and final season).

I thought this puzzle was a cute and fun one to do, and is a passable alternative to Christmas puzzles considering the show is back on our screens for the last time.

Have you got a show that you enjoy watching that has been immortalised in puzzle form?

Dreamworks Family On Tour

Brand: Ravensburger

Pieces: 1000
Size:  70cm x 50cm

Product Code: 139750

I'm finally starting to approach the end of my cross-stitching stint, which I think I mentioned in my previous posts, so that means there will soon be more, newer puzzle images on the way! In the meantime, here is one that I did a little while ago and that I absolutely loved.

I've seen most of the films that these characters appear in, so it was a pleasure to do the puzzle and reminisce about where they come from. The quality was exceptional and I was so lucky to be able to find a copy of this puzzle on Facebook Marketplace at the time, because it can be quite difficult to come by.

Hope you have a great weekend and keep on puzzling!

Disney Mickey And Friends: True Pals

Brand: Crown

Pieces: 300
Size:  61cm x 46cm

Product Code: -

I decided to delve deeper into the puzzle photo archive for today's offering!

I completed this puzzle in 2021 and until now, haven't posted it. I actually forgot I had done it! This one was a cheap but pleasing little purchase that I made just before the covid pandemic hit, and I completed it during that time. It was cute, quick and fun to do, and the pieces were of OK quality considering the price. I only really bought it because I liked the design.

I haven't really got much more to add at the moment but I'll soon be back into puzzling mode soon, once I have some other projects completed. Until then... keep on puzzling!

Seasons Greetings From The Avengers

Brand: Buffalo

Pieces: 500
Size: 38cm x 54cm

Product Code: 3210

For my next Christmas puzzle, I have decided to put up this brightly drawn and illustrated design featuring Marvel's The Avengers. Most of the characters we know and love are depicted in this one, complete with a snowy background and jaunty 'Season's Greetings' banner (the only real Christmas-sy thing about the design if I'm being honest!)

This puzzle was a fun, quick one to do, with that wonderful Buffalo quality behind it.

Next week when I post it will be Christmas Eve and I have a beautiful design ready to upload that I completed during the week. I look forward to putting it up for you then!

TMNT Pizza

Brand: Aquarius

Pieces: 500
Size: 35cm x 48cm

Product Code: 62-311

As I mentioned several weeks ago, I was going to have a little hiatus from posting up puzzle images on a Saturday (as I usually do).

This was the first major break from the page that I have ever had since it's inception in August 2016. Not even a major surgery in 2019 or my daughter's birth in 2021 stopped me from posting regularly over the years.

All it took was 2 long and busy weekends working at the Supanova (Australian Comicon's) interstate over the last few weeks for that to happen. The weekends were full-on busy, but I enjoyed every minute of the set-up, selling, and pack-down with my workmates (except for catching Covid and coughing my way through the end- that wasn't as fun).

This is my first weekend in 3 weeks where I am home and once again able to post. Although I could have done it on the Wednesday's, I preferred to spend that time with my little family.

I have put up the above image for several reasons.

1. It's TMNT! Who doesn't love them? Plus the popculture reference is there from having sold some of their merch over the weekend (not me personally, but I'm sure someone did)

2. Pizza! We ate a lot of junk food over the last 2 weeks, including good ol' pizza

3. I haven't put up any character puzzles in quite a while (not since Aladdin's Jasmine back in September) so I needed to include something this time round.

The above puzzle was excellent quality and the colours were vibrant and fun. Aquarius never seems to disappoint, and I'm very grateful for that, considering the amount of their puzzles I have in my collection.

Speaking of which, is everyone ready for the Black Friday sales?! I am, but I'm also dreading it, cos I know just how many puzzles I have at home which I have not yet done, and I know my self-control for buying them is shot. This is going to be a problem...

La Virgen

Brand: Ravensburger
Pieces: 1000
Size: 50cm x 70cm
Product Code:  198535

We're in December now, so I feel like it's time to unleash some of the Christmas puzzles I have done. I work in retail and for me, the Christmas season began long ago. In fact, we haven't even put up our tree at home yet cos I've already become Christmas-ed out at work and I'm trying to avoid it!!

But puzzles are a different story, so I will be putting some up in the lead-up to the big day!

So the first one I'm posting isn't technically to do with Christmas, but at the same time it kind of is (?!)  I loved the bright and bold colours of this one, and the 'stained glass' look. It was actually a little bit more challenging than I anticipated too, which can occasionally be a good thing.

There are two more Saturdays before Christmas day so I will try to make those themed as well. Also, next week's post might be either a little bit early (Friday) or a little bit late (Sunday) cos I'm going to be interstate again. We'll see how I go!

Bear Fairy Tale

Brand: Unknown
Pieces: 1000
Size: 75cm x 50cm
Product Code:  -

I've done a lot of jigsaw puzzles over the years. These have ranged in piece size, brand and quality- I like to shake it up rather than stick to one particular type. If I see an attractive design, I will go for, whether or not I have done something from that brand before. It's usually the design that draws me in, rather than who makes it or how long it will take to complete.

That is how I ended up doing this puzzle.

I purchased this one from the shopping app Wish, and even though the box text is all in Chinese, I managed to work out (thanks Google Translator) that this one is called Bear Fairy Tale (or something along those lines!). I have no idea what the brand is (or much else for that matter) but I was greatly impressed by the quality.

The pieces are cut from wood and have the alphabet printed in sections on the back to help make the puzzling process easier. The front of each piece is glossy and bright and the design is cute and well done.

I really enjoyed doing this puzzle and will probably look at others of the same style at some point. I haven't done a wooden puzzle as big as this before so it was a nice change from putting together the usual cardboard pieces. When designs are this cute, it's great to branch out and try something a little bit different!

Rugrats

Brand: Aquarius
Pieces: 500
Size: 35cm x 48cm
Product Code: 62-129

A lot of my friends have been giving birth over the last few weeks, and there are still more babies on the way!

So I thought it would be quite fitting to put up a puzzle of one of my favourite childhood television shows (and one that is quite relevant)- Rugrats!

I really enjoyed this Nickelodeon show, and the adventures that Tommy Pickles and his friends got up to- everything is different from the perspective of babies and toddlers!

The quality of this puzzle was outstanding- the colours and design were bright and reminiscent of the show- and I thoroughly enjoyed putting the pieces together. I wish it was as easy to get other 'adult' puzzles of nostalgic shows and movies.

Disney And Pixar Character Collection

Brand: Tenyo
Pieces: 1000
Size: 51cm x 73.5cm
Product Code:  D-1000-383

It's been a while since I posted up a Disney puzzle so what better time than now?!

This awesome puzzle comes from the Japanese masters at Tenyo, who have created a design that features every major Disney and Pixar character from the very beginning until the early 2000s.

Obviously there have been characters created since, but the puzzle doesn't cover those, as it was created before they came out on screen.

However, if you're a fan of Disney, this puzzle will be the ultimate prize in your collection.

The pieces are fantastic quality cardboard, and the design is well set out, with the iconic Steamboat Willie image in the middle, and the rest of the Disney and Pixar characters set out in blocks around it. If you know your characters well, you'll be able to complete this puzzle quite quickly, but it will be no less enjoyable to do.

On the back of the box, there is even a reference to each of the images, although a grasp of the Japanese language will be needed to translate, because none of it is written in English.

This puzzle was a delight to do, and I'm glad I got the opportunity to do it.

Pop Art (Comical Europe)

Brand: Ravensburger
Pieces: 1000
Size: 70cm x 50cm
Product Code:  195046

Here's another bright and fun one!

When I first saw this Ravensburger puzzle, I couldn't go past the bright pop-art style. The old school illustration of a pretty damsel in distress and her cool-as-a-cucumber blonde 'superhero' is striking and instantly drew my attention. The design, which vaguely mimics the work of iconic pop artist Roy Lichtenstein, is simply made to stand out and draw the eye.

You may have noticed that I've titled this puzzle as Pop Art (Comical Europe). On the box it is listed as Pop Art but I've also seen it titled as Comical Europe (including on the Ravensburger website). If you're looking to purchase this puzzle, just be aware that it could be listed under either title. I've put the title down as both just for this reason.

This puzzle uses strong, bold colours and is of the high quality you'd expect from a Ravensburger puzzle.
I highly recommend it for fans of the pop-art style, graphic novels and bright works of art.

Ballroom Blushes!

Brand: Wasgij? (Holdson)
Pieces: 1000
Size: 68.8cm x 49.3cm
Product Code:  17

Even though I like to post up pictures of all the puzzles I do, I was a bit hesitant about putting up this one.

I think it may have been because I was worried about ruining the surprise involved in doing Wasgij? puzzles, where the picture on the box only provides a clue as to what the finished image will be once the puzzle is complete.

Despite this concern, I did decide to put it up after all. I mean, what does it really matter? You only have to google the title to have plenty of other images pop up- mine is hardly going to make a difference!

This was a fun and slightly different puzzle to do. Like I mentioned earlier, the picture on the box is only a clue as to what the final image will be, which makes the puzzle slightly more challenging. You have to use your detective skills to work out where the pieces go and what you're going to end up with.

Ballroom Blushes is number 17 in this series, and it's the only one I have done so far, but I'm sure I'll pick up more in the future, provided they are still around.
