I'm starting to get excited... after a hectic few weeks at work, I've just begun a well-deserved two week holiday!

Yay! During some of that time, I will be travelling to Bali with my family for the first time, which means that next week's blog and Instagram posting won't be happening. Instead, I hope to be sipping cocktails poolside or exploring the area around our resort. I wonder if I'll be able to find a puzzle place there? hmmm....

I have a bit of preparation to do before I go however, so I will leave you with this one. We'll be visiting a waterpark while we're there and this is similar to how I imagine it will look..

I've decided to keep with the really girly theme this weekend and go with a make-up spectacular! 

When I first saw this design, I fell in love. I'm not a really girly-girl and my usual make-up routine involves facial moisturiser, mascara and lip balm so I'm far from high maintenance, but I love the colourful and pretty impact this puzzle design has. I couldn't resist purchasing it and I highly enjoyed piecing it together.

Today's post is a day late as I predicted it would be, due to my attendance at the Victoria State Puzzle Competition. 

It was a fun-filled day and the solo competition puzzle from The Puzzle Collab was a treat to do - I was lucky enough to get a PB time for competitions, which I was pleased with. 

When I have taken a photo of the reassembled puzzle, I will post it, but instead I am putting up this one from Cherry Pazzi. The design is so pretty and I loved putting it together. The quality was amazing and the colours blended together beautifully to create a striking design.

Native Parrot Shaped Puzzle

Although a lot of people swear by Aldi Australia's cheaper grocery prices, and prefer visiting them in comparison to some of the larger supermarket chains, I only tend to visit if I know that they are going to be selling something of interest in their bi-weekly special buys. 

Over the last few months, they have had a few different ranges of jigsaw puzzles available, which means that I have been visiting more than usual. Not only have they had a range of smaller-count (aimed at children) mini puzzles, but they have had a decent selection of wooden, shaped and foil puzzles available. Surprisingly, the quality is quite good, especially considering the cheap prices. 

There were three wooden shaped puzzles - set in a wooden tray - that I purchased, and the picture above is one of those. While it doesn't fit as well in the tray as it probably could, the quality isn't too bad and the overall image looks good. 

Next week is the Victorian State puzzle comp in Malvern, so depending on the time I leave the house to get there, I may not have time to post. But I will do my best! And if I don't get the opportunity, I will try and post the day after instead...
