Blooming Pokemon

Brand: Impact Merch.

Pieces: 300
Size: 50cm x 60cm

Product Code: IMPZ0225

Well, it's just one more week to a small puzzling competition I have entered, and I am nowhere near prepared! I have only done one puzzle for practice in the time since I paid the entry fee, so I really need to get cracking and get some done!

All I know is that it's a Ravensburger puzzle, it will be 500 pieces, and I have 3 hours to complete it in- so hopefully I should be OK with it.

Since I'm running out of time, I might keep this short and quick and get to it now.

Lately, I've really been getting into Pokemon. I mean, I've always been a fan and I collected the trading cards as a kid, but I'm now back into collecting them again. I think I've put up Pokemon puzzles in the past (I honestly can't remember), but this was a small quick one that I did last year. It was only 300 pieces so it was pretty easy but the image is cute.

I have others in my collection that I will get to at some stage, but for now, I have to head off...

Pokemon: All Time Favourites

Brand: Impact Merch

Pieces: 1000
Size: 50cm x 70cm

Product Code: IMPZ0119

I love Pokemon, and have since it first arrived on the scene back in the 1990s. I grew up with the first generation characters while in Primary School, and, along with my brothers, collected the trading cards.

While I am not as familiar with the latest generations of Pokemon (unless I've come across them at work), I still have fond memories of watching the television show and knowing the first 100 or so off by heart!

Now that my daughter is old enough, I am trying to introduce her to Pokemon. She already knows Eevee (sort of forced onto her because her name is Eve so she has all the toys lol), and now she knows Pikachu (and says his name in an extremely cute way).

That's why I have decided to put up this puzzle today- another nostalgia hit! The quality of this puzzle was pretty good and it didn't take long for me to piece together because I recognised many of the features of the characters and was able to put it together quickly.

I have a few other Pokemon puzzles and I can't wait to get to them!

Monopoly

Brand: Impact Merch

Pieces: 1000
Size: 50cm x 70cm

Product Code: IMPZ0111

Wow! How quickly did this week roll around? It feels like hardly any time has passed since I last sat down to post up a puzzle image for Mother's Day (and it was only last week!)

But it is indeed that time again, and so I have selected a new puzzle image for today- Monopoly.

I have no real reason for choosing this one today- besides the fact it's been in my photo pile for quite a while- so I thought I'd get it out there regardless. The weather is lousy outside today and I don't know about you, but that always makes me want to cosy up and do something like a games night... and no games night is complete without a few rounds of monopoly!

The above puzzle wasn't too hard to do when you sorted the pieces by section on the gameboard- I enjoyed putting this one together. The pieces fit together nicely and I didn't have any problems with the quality.

Do you enjoy game nights with family and friends? Or would you just prefer to cosy up with a puzzle or good book instead?

Pusheen The Cat: Pusheen & Friends

Brand: Impact Merch

Pieces: 460
Size: 40cm x 40cm

Product Code: IMPZ0117

When I posted my photo last week of the Barbie puzzle, I didn't realise that they were going to release the trailer for the new Barbie film starring Margot Robbie later on in the week! How random! But also, how good was the timing?

This week, I was hoping to post a picture of a Super Mario puzzle that I have been working on for the release of the new film (featuring the voice of Chris Pratt). I was going to go see it on Thursday but unfortunately wasn't feeling too well so I didn't get there. But that's OK, because as I said, I'm still working on the puzzle. Still working... it's a 500 piece puzzle and usually I would have had it complete, but this one is killing me! I have approximately 80% of it done but the sky and grass are solid colours and the pieces are ALL THE SAME! you can seriously interchange most of the pieces and then it doesn't fit together as nicely as it's meant to so you have to pull them out and try a different combination. I'm about to lose it but I really want to complete it properly for my photos. The annoying thing is, it's from a brand that makes puzzles as their business, and I've done cheaper-branded puzzles of lower quality that don't have anywhere near the same problem. Very disappointing but I'm going to keep plugging at it.

I also hoped to put up an Easter-themed puzzle since tomorrow is the day but I couldn't find anything in my stash so the above puzzle will have to do for this time round. It's kind of fitting because my daughter has been crawling around lately pretending to be a cat! The above puzzle was a nice and quick one to do, and is a quite cute image of Pusheen and friends enjoying some ice cream together.

Next week I won't be posting because I'll be travelling for work and won't have access to my photos/laptop etc (besides the fact that I will be very busy!) but I'll make sure I have something ready for the week after.

Have a happy and safe Easter with your loved ones and I'll see you in two weeks xo

Pokemon: Character Panels

During the week, McDonalds Australia was meant to release a Pokemon-themed Happy Meal.

One of my brothers, who is a huge fan, enlisted me to go and buy some so that he could try and collect all the trading cards which come with the food. Unfortunately, none of our local stores had them in stock yet so I still haven't been able to get any. This is despite Ebay going crazy with them. I'm guessing a lot of the ones for sale (at ridiculously inflated prices I might add) are being sold by McDonalds employees who managed to get their hands on them early.

Anyway, because I wasn't able to get any, I thought I'd put up a Pokemon puzzle instead. The above puzzle was quite easy to do if you worked in colour blocks but was still moderately challenging. I love the above 'original' characters so it was a pleasure to do this design.

Impact Merch has come through with quite a few cool popculture designs, and I can't wait to see what else is in store!
