How was your week? I wasn't sure which puzzle to put up today so I went with a vibrant, busy one from Eeboo. I loved this illustration, with all it's hidden little details that weren't really noticeable until you were piecing it together. 

Unfortunately I don't have much time to write this morning, so I'm just going to leave the image here and say that it was an enjoyable puzzle to complete.

Some puzzle designs are just cute... and this is one of them. When I saw this cute little illustrated scene, I knew I had to get it. The colours are vibrant, the animals are appealing and there is a lot going on within the design that draws your attention and makes you study the scene. And did I mention it's cute?! Haha

I timed myself doing this puzzle as practice for a puzzling competition last year. I finished it under 2 hours but it was trickier than I anticipated. 

Speaking of which, I entered a puzzling competition last week, but even though I got there on time this time around, I was unable to finish it within the two hour time limit. I had 42 pieces left. I was quite disappointed (with another 10 minutes I maybe could have finished) but was just glad I didn't have only one or two pieces left at finish (that would have been devastating to get so close). It seems that just over half of the entrants actually completed their puzzle and I was in the middle range for results. Not too bad, but next comp I want to actually finish it!

The Australian Jigsaw Puzzle Association (AJPA) has also recently announced the dates for most of their state competitions this year, and I'm hoping to enter the Victorian one once more.

Blooming Pokemon

Well, it's just one more week to a small puzzling competition I have entered, and I am nowhere near prepared! I have only done one puzzle for practice in the time since I paid the entry fee, so I really need to get cracking and get some done! 

All I know is that it's a Ravensburger puzzle, it will be 500 pieces, and I have 3 hours to complete it in- so hopefully I should be OK with it.

Since I'm running out of time, I might keep this short and quick and get to it now. 

Lately, I've really been getting into Pokemon. I mean, I've always been a fan and I collected the trading cards as a kid, but I'm now back into collecting them again. I think I've put up Pokemon puzzles in the past (I honestly can't remember), but this was a small quick one that I did last year. It was only 300 pieces so it was pretty easy but the image is cute.

I have others in my collection that I will get to at some stage, but for now, I have to head off...

I may have mentioned before that I love the Blue Opal releases of Jenny Sanders' iconic classic car artwork. 

Here is another one from my collection that I thought I'd post up today. 

While I love the colours of this car, it took me a while to realise what was wrong with the image... Can you work it out?!

Yes, the car is disproportionately too big compared to the size of the people! This has nothing to do with the depth of the image because they are not that far in front of the rest of the scene- the image of the car is just absolutely too big compared to everything else! I'm not sure what happened here but the artist has definitely made sure that the car is the main focus! 😂

Other than that slight, I loved this puzzle for the usual reasons- the colours were vibrant, the pieces fit well together and despite the slight sizing mishap, the illustration was spot on.

Oh well, can't win 'em all!
