Christmas Book Flood

Brand: Reverie Puzzles

Pieces: 1000
Size:  50cm x 70cm

Product Code: -

Hey all,

Sorry I didn't post yesterday, as I usually do. I ended up working Saturday as overtime and started work early, so I had absolutely no time to put up a picture or anything. I've decided to remedy that today however, so never fear!

Last week was the Nationals and wow, what an experience! I had a great time competing in the individuals competition, even though I finished quite late in the game compared to many other people. I should have practiced more in the leadup to the event but I'm glad I at least completed it within the time frame. Next year I'll have to focus more on bettering my time...

In the meantime, I will continue getting through as many puzzles as I can so that I can clear a bit of a puzzle backlog- especially since more puzzles keep on jumping into my online carts and ending up at my home! Crazy how that happens lol.

Todays puzzle is another Christmas-themed one (as all of December will be), from Reverie Puzzles, titled Christmas Book Flood, and illustrated by the talented Sanna Nordahl. This design follows an Icelandic Christmas tradition which I personally think sounds amazing! Basically it's a Christmas Eve book exchange and read-in. What more could you want?

Do you have any Christmas holiday traditions? Maybe you'd want to start something like this within your household? Let me know your thoughts! Until next time...

Enchanted Christmas

Brand: Ravensburger

Pieces: 500
Size: 49cm x 36cm

Product Code:  168620

A case of insomnia has me up and posting this one a bit earlier on a Saturday morning than I would like. But I figured that since I was up, I may as well do it now...

This puzzle design is another by Demelsa Haughton- I absolutely love her work! She has such pretty and whimsical illustrations, and they come across as wonderful puzzle designs.

This Christmas-themed puzzle is no exception. She puts lots of little details into her work, and sometimes you don't see them until you're piecing the puzzle together. The characters are all very cute and I am excited that I got to do yet another of her gorgeous creations.

This is the last weekend before Christmas! Crazy how time flies. I'll have another (final) Christmas puzzle up next week and then we'll see what happens next in regards to design posts. What will the new year bring?!

Princess Christmas Celebrations (Disney)

Brand: Ravensburger
Pieces: 500
Size: 49cm x 36cm
Product Code: 147786

Well it's the last Saturday before Christmas and so here is the last Christmas puzzle I have on offer for the time being- Princess Christmas Celebrations! Of course I had to finish on a high and include a beloved Disney design :)

This one features the main Disney princesses (and all the woodland animals that seem to favour them) in a wintery Christmas scene. The quality was perfect as usual and the design was appealing to anyone who loves the characters involved.

My next post will be put up in that weird holiday space between Christmas and New Year so I'll see you then for the final post of 2019! In the meantime, have a Merry and Safe Christmas!

Return To Santa: Art By Tom Wood

Brand: SunsOut
Pieces: 750
Size: 68.58cm x 87.63cm
Product Code:   96004

Christmas feels weird this year.

Maybe it's because it falls on a Monday and the lead up to the day is the weekend. I work in retail so I'm usually working up until Christmas Eve,  but because it's the weekend this year, I don't need to. That's thrown me out quite a bit but at the same time, I'm happy to have the time off to organise myself for Christmas!

As promised last week, I have put up a Christmas-themed puzzle for today- a cute shaped puzzle that features the artwork of Tom Wood for SunsOut. This puzzle was much bigger than I anticipated- SunsOut usually label their puzzle dimensions in inches, and I have to then convert them to centimetres to work out just how large a puzzle it is! The pieces are also a variety of weird and unusual shapes, as is typical of the brand, so it can take some time to sort them and find the edge pieces. Sometimes pieces that can be found in the middle of the design have such straight edges, they could be mistaken for being part of the border!

For this one, I worked in colours and textures blocks to work out what went where. The design is both cute and bright, so no problems there...I'm starting to become a bit of a fan of the randomness of SunsOut designs, although if I have one fault with the brand, it's that their boxes aren't very sturdy. I think every box I have of theirs is torn or ripped in some way because the cardboard box is so thin that it doesn't wear well if you stack a few boxes on top of one another. Nevertheless, the puzzles inside them are still good, and the designs are pretty so I'll probably continue buying and putting them together...

Have a safe and happy Christmas and I hope you get everything on your Christmas wishlist!
