Places You Will Go

Brand: Buffalo

Pieces: 500
Size: 54cm x 38cm

Product Code: 3122

As you may be aware, I have been travelling a little bit for work recently- just interstate, but it means that I haven't been home to post puzzles up like I usually do. My workplace has recently released the next events dates for expressions of interest and I most likely will apply for all of them. Even though it's work, it's good to get out and experience different places!

In another reference to travel, I currently have friends on a honeymoon in Western Australia, and their photos look amazing! One of my workmate's is currently on a tour in Europe and a good friend has just returned from Japan. What's more, two of my brothers will be travelling Europe next month (boy, that's come around quickly) so today's puzzle has a decidedly obvious travel theme.

The above puzzle was quite fun to do. I did it in sections according to colour and pieced it together quite quickly. With vibrant colours and a beautiful illustrated design, this puzzle was a pleasure to put together.

Do you have travel plans over the coming months? Where will you be heading off to?

Wanderlust

Brand: Buffalo

Pieces: 1000
Size: 68cm x 50cm

Product Code: 12214

It seems like everyone is travelling or on holidays at the moment!

I have friends that are currently travelling Vietnam, Africa, Bali and Japan, and it's really making my travel bug come to the fore! But, even though I love to explore new places, sometimes I can't be bothered dealing with all the organisation involved in getting to that place. That's one of the reasons that I enjoy doing puzzles that focus on travel so much.

The above puzzle is from Buffalo, and it's one that I had been wanting to get for a long time, simply because of the colourful, pretty illustration. This puzzle was a pleasure to do, and I was able to complete it quite quickly by working in colour blocks. As I already mentioned, the design is so pretty, and I love that it covers a variety of different travel experiences. This is part of the Vivid Collection, and I'm keen to see if there are any more that might also interest me.

What A View

Brand: Buffalo

Pieces: 300
Size: 46cm x 46cm

Product Code: 2841

Happy New Year!

This would have been the ideal time to put up a puzzle featuring fireworks or some sort of celebration of the coming new year, but once again, I have forgotten to prepare ahead in my puzzle-making and therefore have no images of the sort!

Instead, I have found this image, which is reminiscent of the camping trips we have taken with friends over previous years. Sure, we have not had any scenes remotely like this one appear through our tent doors (I don't know if Australia even has any spots like this) but the camping spirit is there.

This puzzle was from Buffalo and I was blown away by how pretty the scene was. Even though I'm not a huge fan of camping, I still wouldn't mind waking up to a view like this.

What are your plans for celebrating the start of the New Year? We left it to the last minute this time round so we will be 'camping' at a friends place. Will you be getting dressed up? Hitting the town? Seeing the fireworks?

Whatever you decide to do, I hope you enjoy a safe and fun night and have a prosperous coming new year!

See you next year with a hopefully updated puzzle catalogue!

Popeye Village, Malta

Brand: Colorluxe
Pieces: 1500
Size: 58cm x 84cm
Product Code: -

When it's bleak and cold in your home country (winter!) you sometimes need a little sunny-side-pick-me-up. Besides going on a holiday, one way to do this is to do a puzzle with a lovely sunny image that immediately transports you to a warmer climate- hence my puzzle this week of Popeye Village in Malta.

While it doesn't appear to be a tropical location, the beautiful colours of the water and the bright red tiles of the buildings certainly make a difference when considering the dismal weather and overall greyness of life where I live at the moment!

This puzzle was a little bit challenging to do when it came to working the background mountains and some parts of the ocean, but that only made it more interesting. There were plenty of colour shades to keep the design fresh and prevent boredom.

I'd never heard of Popeye Village before, but apparently it's where they filmed the musical production of Popeye, and due to its popularity, they changed the village's former name to reflect that.

I definitely wouldn't mind visiting it!

Colorful Boats On The Lake

Brand: Puzzlebug
Pieces: 500
Size: 46cm x 28cm
Product Code:   -

How was your Christmas? I hope you had a fabulous day with your family and friends, and were able to fully enjoy the festivities!

Now, if you're a regular reader of this blog, you will know that this is not my usual posting day. I usually post up each Saturday morning (at the moment it's Friday night), but I'm going to be a bit out of the ordinary this week and put up my weekly post now. I'm heading off camping with friends for New Year's and we're leaving bright and early tomorrow morning. Hence, the reason I'm posting now- there's no way I can get up early enough to write something and still be ready in time to leave! And there is likely to be little by way of phone reception or internet access where we're going...

For my last puzzle post of the year, I have decided to put up a picture of Puzzlebug's Colorful Boats On The Lake. I was hoping to get a puzzle I have of fireworks done in time to celebrate the new year, but wasn't able to complete it in time. Maybe next year!

I decided to put this one up because we're going to be near a lake (while camping) and it still has a summer- type of vibe for our southern-hemisphere new year celebrations.

I hope you have a safe and happy new year and look forward to the adventures and puzzling that 2018 will bring!!
