You may have noticed that this week's post is a day late... or maybe you didn't... 

Either way, I apologise for the delay in getting my post to you. 

I ended up working yesterday morning (unusual for me on a weekend nowadays) and so I was unable to get anything up before I had to leave home and clock on for work. 

I was helping to set up our stall for the Melbourne Toy Fair, and even though I was busy most of the time, I did get to have a sneaky look at a few stalls as I passed by them. I'm hoping that when I'm back there working on Wednesday, I might be able to have a proper look, and perhaps even make some puzzle purchases from stalls if they'll allow it.

In the meantime, I'm going to put up this puzzle that I completed a little while ago.

I thought it was somewhat relevant because some of the people I work with just came back from the New York Toy Fair, and over the last two days I have been helping to set up for the Melbourne one (no comparison in size or excitement though!). 

The puzzle was typical of Eeboo, with a detailed and well laid-out design, vibrant colours and good quality pieces. As always, no complaints except for maybe the glossiness of the pieces but that's not really anything to worry about unless you're trying to take a decent photograph of the finished design. 

Hopefully I'll be back on schedule next week, but until then, happy puzzling!

Broadway, NYC

The winter months are fast approaching in Australia, and that means more and more people are travelling internationally to get away from the winter blues. Although I visited America several years ago on a Contiki tour, I never got the opportunity to visit New York City. 

This is one of the places I would love to see in real life one day. 

I love musicals and to visit Broadway and see a show or two would be a dream!

Instead, I will have to settle for imagery of the place through jigsaw puzzles! This puzzle from Colorluxe is 1500 pieces and captures the bustle of the busy Broadway streets. 

It wasn't very difficult to do, but I did get frustrated with the colour-sorting on the back. This is meant to make the puzzle easier for beginners by allowing them to sort the sections of the puzzle by colour and therefore helping them to work out where each piece goes. But I find the double-sided colour part tedious and annoying- I prefer to simply work from the image! 

Regardless, the puzzle turned out well and the pieces fit together nicely.

These are great and cheap puzzles if you want a slightly different design.

The Greatest City On Earth

Although I've never been to Manhattan (or even New York for that matter), I've always been interested in going. 

Perhaps this is because I have seen so many films and television shows that are set there- the power of the screen! 

While I can't necessarily agree with the title of this puzzle- The Greatest City On Earth- I certainly believe that it has a lot going for it! I would love the chance to one day go to the Statue of Liberty, Central Park, The Empire State Building and the Brooklyn Bridge, among many of the other tourist sites to see. For the time being, however, I'll have to settle for looking at images (in the form of puzzles), if I want to view these places. 

This puzzle was a pleasure to do, with very small pieces, and provided a detailed illustration of Manhattan's attractions. I'm not sure quite how old this puzzle is, but it must have been released before 2001, because the World Trade Centre Twin Towers are in the design, and I highly doubt that the artist would draw them in after the terrible events of September 11. That said, the design is still quite a good representation of Manhattan's highlights and would make a great memento for anyone who loves traveling through this amazing city.
