Disney 100

Brand: Arrow Puzzles

Pieces: 1000
Size:  69cm x 50cm

Product Code: 19914

In a few days it will be 'Star Wars Day' (aka May the 4th) so I thought I'd put up a puzzle featuring characters from the popular franchise. Although this one also shows characters from Disney and Marvel, I thought it would be relevant to the day. I have done quite a few Star Wars-themed puzzles throughout the years but this was the only photo I had currently that I could use for the upcoming day.

The quality of this puzzle was quite good and the image was appealing as it represented a mix of characters in celebration of Disney's 100th celebrations. I'm pretty sure I have more Star Wars puzzles in my collection- I just have to get around to finding and doing them!

50 Must-Watch Movies Bucket List

Brand: Ridley's Jigsaw Puzzles

Pieces: 1000
Size:  55cm x 70cm

Product Code: JIG066

I used to love watching movies in my downtime while I was studying at school and university - it was the way I relaxed after hitting the books (although my mum probably thinks I spent more time watching films than actually studying!)

So when I saw this puzzle design, the nostalgia hit and I had to do it. I've seen quite a few of these films (although I can't be bothered counting right now to give you an exact amount) and I loved the images used to portray each one. The illustration style really drew me in. This puzzle was fun to do, and took me less time than I expected, considering it's 1000 pieces. It also came in a 'popcorn-style' bucket rather than a normal rectangular box, which created a bit more interest.

Do you enjoy doing puzzles that feature 'checklists'? How many of the films in this puzzle have you watched?

Thriller Classics

Brand: Clementoni (High Quality Collection)

Pieces: 1000
Size:  69cm x 50cm

Product Code: 39602

Last weekend, I was going through my puzzle collection and sorting all my completed puzzles from my new and uncompleted ones. My hope is to sell or give away the ones that I have done so that I can make some more room in our house (and maybe make a bit of extra cash on the side). I'd like to add that my husband was also pushing me to complete this task because he's getting a little frustrated with seeing puzzle boxes everywhere! Oops!

Anyway, I managed to get together all the ones that I wanted to sell (including the one above if anyone is interested) and came to a grand total of 126! These are ones I have completed, taken a photo of, and put aside, and range in piece count and brand variety. I'm thinking of either listing them on Facebook or eBay, or holding a market stall and just trying to sell them. What would you do with that kind of quantity?

Something to think about...

Anyway, let's move to today's puzzle... The above puzzle was a pleasure to do, and I was happy to recognise most of the titles, even if I hadn't necessarily seen the film. This puzzle would've been a good option for Halloween actually. I was happy with the quality of the puzzle and the way that it pieced together. The colours were vibrant and the layout of the design was interesting and caught my attention.

Do you enjoy doing collage-style puzzles? I have a few more in my collection that I'm keen to do....

Until next time... happy puzzling!

Disney Vintage Posters

Brand: Ravensburger
Pieces: 1000
Size: 70cm x 50cm
Product Code: 198740

It's been a while so we're going Disney again today!

The above puzzle by Ravensburger features a collection of vintage posters advertising various Disney films on their original release.I love the layered effect of the design, and the informative border that tells the name of each film and its release year. It's amazing how all of these films have stood the test of time and are still popular today, despite decades having passed!

Even more amazing is the fact that some of these films are so well-loved that Disney is remaking/ has remade several as part of their live-action reboots over the last few years- inspiring a new generation of Disney lovers and dividing the rest of us about which film is better (the original or the remake!)

Whatever your preference, there is no doubt that the films in this design are universally loved, and this puzzle is perfect for fans of each and every one of them!

Star Wars Saga

Brand: Ravensburger
Pieces: 500
Size: 49 x 36cm
Product Code:  146659

In a few weeks, the latest film from the Star Wars  franchise will be released- Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. While this film is not part of the official saga, it acts as a prequel of sorts, setting up the storyline for the epic space adventure films that we all know and love.

In anticipation of this release, I decided to do a puzzle that commemorates the first six films. Produced by Ravensburger, this puzzle features iconic imagery from the previous films (although not the seventh installment, The Force Awakens) as well as the infamous villain Darth Vader.

With a lot of black pieces, I thought this puzzle would be more challenging than it actually was. But in true Ravensburger quality style, there were varying gradients in the colours, which made the process of piecing the puzzle together a lot easier. Add to that the high-quality interlocking and there was no chance you could fail. It only took me a couple of hours to complete this puzzle, and the results are pretty spectacular.

This is a fantastic commemorative design and any jigsaw puzzle fans who enjoy the Star Wars saga are also sure to enjoy the imagery set out in this puzzle.
