Freya

Brand: Deico Games

Pieces: 1000
Size:  68cm x 47cm

Product Code: 77448

Good morning all!

I'm not sure if there's a story behind this illustrated design by Groos Zselyke, but the wintery scene above certainly seemed appropriate for the cold days we've been experiencing lately.

I've had this puzzle in my collection since about 2021 and only recently got it out to complete it. I decided to go through some of the older puzzles I had, with the intention of doing them and getting them ready to sell at the upcoming Laverton Bowling Club puzzle sale.

Although the image is beautiful, the pieces were quite a loose fit. I've only done a couple of puzzles from this brand, seeing as it's difficult to get in Australia (I had to import it from the UK), but the artwork was too pretty to pass up!

Have you ever imported a puzzle simply because it was unavailable in your country and you really loved the design?

Inseparable Cat And Kitten

Brand: Enjoy Puzzles

Pieces: 1000
Size:  68cm x 48cm

Product Code: 2122

Tomorrow is Mother's Day and it's also my birthday, so what better puzzle to put up than a cute cat and her kitten!

I did this puzzle a little while ago and it was the first time I had done a puzzle from the Enjoy brand. It was such a pleasure to do and I've done one or two since. The quality is amazing and the colours are always so vibrant.

I don't really have a lot of time to write much more cos I have to get ready to go to Melbourne, but I hope you enjoy the image I have put up and I'll get back to you next week with something new!

House Of Colors

Brand: Enjoy

Pieces: 1000
Size:  68cm x 48cm

Product Code: 2153

Isn't it such a good feeling when you see the release of a particular design you've been wanting for ages, and then it becomes available for purchase? That was the way I felt when I saw the above image. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted to complete it, and luckily enough, I was able to purchase a copy before it completely sold out everywhere!

Since then, I have seen numerous people searching for it online and asking in Facebook groups if anyone has it available to buy. I have just finished mine and plan on bringing it to the Melton Puzzle Sale that is happening tomorrow in Melton, Victoria (April 13, 2025). I will try and reach out to some of those people on Facebook, in the unlikely event that I don't sell it there, but I'm not liking their chances. I'd much prefer to sell it in person and not have to deal with shipping and the hassle of going to the post office. I'm pretty sure this will be one of the first puzzles snapped up, and with good reason too.

The quality was amazing and the colours are so beautiful. The image just pops and is such a pleasure to do. It was a little more challenging than I first anticipated but once I got into the flow of it and was able to sort it by colours, it was very enjoyable to do.

Will you be attending the Melton Puzzle Sale tomorrow at The Golden Fleece? If so, I'll see you there!

Beauties Of Chinese 56 Ethnic Groups

Brand: Taiwang

Pieces: 1000
Size:  50cm x 75cm

Product Code: TW-1000-009

It's Lunar New Year, and since I don't have any puzzle images of snakes (of which this is the year), I have decided instead to put up a puzzle that I completed several years ago and which has been sitting in my puzzle photo vault for all that time! I won this puzzle through a Facebook competition back then, and it was such a beautiful image to complete.

There are a couple of puzzles I have in my collection that would be perfect for this Lunar New Year and I hope to complete them soon so that I can show them to you. In the meantime, take a look at the one above!

I hadn't done this brand before and have never seen it available in Australian stores (or even online for that matter) but the design is beautiful and I remember the quality being exceptional.

Have you got any puzzles in your collection where you've never tried the brand before but the image drew you in and you're raring to complete them?

Native

Brand: Kaiser Style (Kaisercraft)

Pieces: 1000
Size:  68cm x 50cm

Product Code: -

When we were on our New Zealand holiday, we went to Kiwi Park in Queenstown, where we were able to see some gorgeous (usually elusive) Kiwis and a whole range of other birds that are native to the country. I did see a 100 piece puzzle available that featured illustrations of some of these birds but I didn't buy it. So to try to make up for that little faux pas, I am putting up a puzzle today that features some native Australian birds.

This puzzle is from Kaisercraft- an Australian crafting store that has slowly moved away from their traditional card-making and crafting origins, and is now more of a gift shop. They sell a range of puzzles that feature illustrations and this is one of the ones I have picked up over time. The designs are pretty but they are on the cheaper end of the scale when it comes to quality (although admittedly, there is nothing wrong with them for the price).

Do you like to pick up puzzle mementos of places you've been to, or things you've seen/done? Or do you have regrets later (as I did) and try to find alternatives? (like my NZ birds to Australian birds puzzle expedition haha)

Pajama Mamas

Brand: Galison

Pieces: 1000
Size: 68.58cm x 50.8cm

Product Code: -

Current mood? See above.

I have been feeling so physically exhausted lately- between working, early mornings, gym sessions and always being on the go, I don't feel as though I've been able to just rest properly. I have all the feels for the above design, where the mamas are just chilling, sharing a cup of coffee and having a natter in their pretty PJs.

This puzzle was fun to do, with several colour points to focus on, and lots of different patterns. The pieces fit together well and the overall quality was great (as is usually the case for Galison). I also loved the illustration style, which instantly drew my attention.

I will be working interstate over the next two weekends, so, once again, I won't be posting any more puzzles until I'm back.

I've got grand plans to put up some awesome new puzzle images on my return...

Stay tuned xo

Bookstore Astronomers

Brand: Eeboo

Pieces: 500
Size: 58.4cm x 58.4cm

Product Code: PZFBKA

Hello! And May the fourth be with you! Yes, today is Star Wars Day and in typical 'me' fashion, I have neglected to do a puzzle featuring characters from the popular franchise. So to compensate, I have put up a puzzle featuring some astronomers hard at work in their bookstore.

I loved this design from Eeboo. The colours are vibrant, the illustration is detailed and pretty and there is so much to draw your attention into the puzzle.

I'm going to have to cut this post short but if you ever get the chance to tackle this 500 piece puzzle, take it, as you won't be disappointed.

Plant Babies

Brand: Hinkler

Pieces: 500
Size: 61cm x 45.7cm

Product Code: -

You may have noticed over time, just looking through my feed, that I am a big fan of illustrated puzzle designs.

I love bold drawings with lots of colour and detail, especially when they have an arty feel. The above puzzle ticks those boxes- I was instantly attracted to this design when I first came across it, and had to purchase it right away! Luckily it was in a cheaper price range, being a Hinkler puzzle (and sold at Kmart) so I could justify buying yet another one when I already had such a huge to-do pile. Of course, there were also a couple more designs available that needed to be purchased too but that's another story...

This puzzle wasn't bad quality-wise, considering the price, and as I mentioned, the design was a huge drawcard. Well worth the 10 dollars I spent on it.

In other news, there's a jigsaw puzzle competition for charity being held today which I will be attending and competing in in Melbourne. Eek how exciting! Hopefully the traffic won't be as miserable as last time's and I'll get there early enough with plenty of time to spare...

I'll let you know how I go.. Until next time!

Barbie: Paris Fashion

Brand: Ravensburger

Pieces: 500
Size: 49cm x 36cm

Product Code: 165001

I finally got the chance to watch the Barbie movie last night! Yes, I know, it came out ages ago and I had every intention of seeing it with some of my friends but then I went overseas, and we had people cancel, and time just slipped away from us...

But that's OK because I can finally say that I've seen it. And I really enjoyed it! It was very tongue-in-cheek, had some great little jokes throughout, but also was quite inspiring. It brought home a lot of truths about the patriarchy and women's often contradictory roles in the world, and I'm glad I finally got the chance to see it.

Anyway, I have decided to put up a Barbie puzzle for just that reason. This puzzle is a lot more muted than some of the other Barbie ones I have done- it's very classic and elegant fashion as opposed to the usual hot pink fashionista Barbie that is usually the norm but I enjoyed doing it.

I bought this one online from the US and it cost me quite a bit but totally worth it for the rarity (and prettiness) of it. The quality was typical Ravensburger and it was quick to complete when you worked in sections.

Is there a movie you really want to see, that may have an accompanying puzzle to it?

The Happy Sheep Yarn Shop

Brand:
 Ravensburger

Pieces: 1000
Size: 70cm x 50cm

Product Code: 169498

Well I'm back after two weekends of slinging popculture paraphernalia at buying convention visitors, and boy, is it good to be home!

I love that I get the chance to do things like that through work, but I equally love having my weekends back at home when all the hard work is done!

You'd think that I would have had a great puzzle lined up as a 'welcome back' kind of thing, but sadly, that was the last thing on my mind this weekend. I've been so busy just getting back into the swing of things (and readjusting from Perth's two-hour time difference lol) that I didn't get the chance.

So I have put up one that has been in my collection for a few months at least- this delightfully colourful sheep puzzle! This one drew my attention when I first saw it, simply because of the colours. The book Where Is The Green Sheep? by Mem Fox was also in rotation with my daughter at the time, so it seemed fitting.

This puzzle was fun to do, and I got it completed relatively quickly.

On a completely irrelevant side note, are you going to pre-order Reverie Puzzles new Advent/ Halloween calendar puzzles? Pre-orders open at 12pm today and I am so excited! Haha

See you next week!

Crystals

Brand: Cloudberries

Pieces: 1000
Size: 68cm x 48.5cm

Product Code: -

I'm going all New Age today with this pretty crystals puzzle from Cloudberries.

My reasoning?

One of my closest friends has a small business where she sources and sells beautiful crystals and she will be holding a market stall today. I'm not sure if I'll have the chance to visit her, so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and put up a puzzle of crystals in solidarity.

This puzzle was of exceptional quality and featured a lovely matte finish so when I was taking my photos, I didn't have to worry about the glare that some puzzles give off when hit by light. I also liked the gradient pastel background that complemented the crystal images and made the puzzle feel that tiny bit prettier than featuring a plain white background.

I have a few crystals puzzles in my collection- as well as the real deals on display! Do you collect items other than puzzles? Or do you have puzzles of some of the items you collect?

Barbie: Girl Power

Brand: Crown

Pieces: 300
Size: 61cm x 46cm

Product Code: 19691

I was in the mood for Barbies and nostalgia for today's post, so here it is!

In recent months, I have located quite a few Barbie-branded puzzles (although mostly from Ravensburger) to add to my collection. I just love the memories the images invoke, plus they're so pretty!

This one was just a cheap one from Aldi but still turned out to be okay quality for a quick puzzling fix. Sometimes you can get some little gems from shops like this! This puzzle had thinner cardboard pieces and the pieces were quite large but it still came out alright.

Do you have a favourite childhood toy that you would love to see immortalised in puzzle form?

Bookish Dreamer

Brand: Reverie Puzzles

Pieces: 500
Size: 52cm x 38cm

Product Code: -

Have you come across Reverie Puzzles yet?

Based in the town of Geelong (Victoria, Australia) they feature puzzles with a booklover's theme, including the one above and some seriously beautiful licenced puzzles which feature artwork inspired by the Sarah J Maas series, A Court Of Thorns And Roses

I'm happy to say that I now own nearly every one of the puzzles available from this company, and unlike other brands where I usually sell/pass them on once I'm done, I'm planning on keeping these. The artwork is beautiful, the quality is perfect and although they could be considered a bit pricey, they are sooo worth it. I also love that they are local to me (being a fellow resident of Geelong), and that I can support a local business.

Check out their website www.reveriepuzzles.com.au and see how awesome their products are. I guarantee that if you love books and whimsical pretty images, you won't be disappointed.

Cleopatra

Brand: Deico Games (D-Toys)

Pieces: 1000
Size: 68cm x 47cm

Product Code: 254-DG 2020

How beautiful is the artwork on this puzzle?! When I first saw it on an online store overseas, I was immediately drawn to the image- it's so pretty! As you are probably aware by now, I love beautiful illustrations and this puzzle was no exception. I hadn't even done the brand before but was willing to take a risk by buying this (and several others) simply because I loved the image so much. Have you ever done that?

Luckily the quality of the puzzle was just as good as the artwork, with pieces that fit in well together and vibrant colours. From memory, I don't remember there being much (if any) puzzle dust- yet another win!

Can't wait to start another one!
