Harry Potter And The Philosopher's Stone
Brand: Winning Moves
Pieces: 500
Size: 50cm diameter
Product Code: -
Over the last few days I have been receiving a lot of emails from various ticketing agencies, reminding me that tickets will soon be released for the Harry Potter and The Cursed Child stage show in Melbourne next year. They are all telling me that if I sign up to their priority access list, I will have a chance to get early bird tickets to the show before they go on sale to the general public.
I wonder if everyone who has shown an interest is getting as many emails as me?
As it is, I have decided to put up a Harry Potter puzzle I have done in the past...
This one, from Winning Moves, was different from some that I have done, being a round shaped puzzle. The pieces travel inwards as you put them together (does that make sense) to create the picture. The edges appear to be straight until you put them together, where the distinctive curve of the outside pieces start to show and the puzzle begins to round out. This one features scenes from the first film and was enjoyable to do. The quality was fantastic and the images were clear.
This puzzle is perfect for fans of Harry Potter who are looking for something just that little bit different...

Dinosaurs
Brand: Eurographics
Pieces: 1000
Size: 48.89cm x 67.63cm
Product Code: 6000-1005
The new Jurassic World film (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom) was released on Thursday, and while I haven't yet had the chance to see it, I thought I'd put up a puzzle of dinosaurs in tribute to such a fantastic franchise.
I have seen all of them so far (besides the latest) but I'd have to say that my favourite is definitely the first- the others are okay but nothing can compare to the original in my books!
This puzzle by Eurographics was quite interesting to do- it took a little while to piece together anyway! These puzzles always contain so much information and are great educational resources. Considering there are so few dinosaur puzzles of larger counts around (surprisingly), I was happy to find this one. The quality was wonderful and the design was typical Eurographics style.
Fantastic for any fans of dinosaur facts and figures...

Popeye Village, Malta
Brand: Colorluxe
Pieces: 1500
Size: 58cm x 84cm
Product Code: -
When it's bleak and cold in your home country (winter!) you sometimes need a little sunny-side-pick-me-up. Besides going on a holiday, one way to do this is to do a puzzle with a lovely sunny image that immediately transports you to a warmer climate- hence my puzzle this week of Popeye Village in Malta.
While it doesn't appear to be a tropical location, the beautiful colours of the water and the bright red tiles of the buildings certainly make a difference when considering the dismal weather and overall greyness of life where I live at the moment!
This puzzle was a little bit challenging to do when it came to working the background mountains and some parts of the ocean, but that only made it more interesting. There were plenty of colour shades to keep the design fresh and prevent boredom.
I'd never heard of Popeye Village before, but apparently it's where they filmed the musical production of Popeye, and due to its popularity, they changed the village's former name to reflect that.
I definitely wouldn't mind visiting it!

African Sunset
Brand: Ravensburger
Pieces: 1500
Size: 60cm x 80cm
Product Code: 162987
Time for another animal scene I reckon...
I did this puzzle for the Global Jigsaw Puzzle Jubilee from the stash of puzzles that I had in my cupboard. I can't remember exactly when I bought this one- it's quite old- and I haven't seen it available for sale in a long time (although I'm actually selling mine now on eBay if anyone's interested?!)
This puzzle took me a lot longer to do than I anticipated- it may have something to do with all the oranges, reds and yellows in the Saharan landscape! That said, it was also a pleasure to do, with its beautiful design and exceptional Ravensburger quality. Once I had the trees and solid background done, the zebras and giraffes became a little easier to manage.
This is a beautiful puzzle and a worthy addition to any collection.

Candy Factory Fairground Concession Stand
Brand: Colorluxe
Pieces: 1500
Size: 58cm x 84cm
Product Code: -
Yesterday was National Donut Day, and I'm sad to say that I did not celebrate it in the way it was intended!
I didn't eat any donuts, and I couldn't find any donut designs in my collection of puzzles that I could do and post for the day. I hope to remedy this for next year's event.
In the meantime, I have put up a Colorluxe puzzle of Candy Factory Fairground Concession Stand- the closest puzzle link to sweet foods that I could find in my collection of completed puzzles.
This is one of those puzzles that has the coloured backs for 'easier' sorting, although I find them mildly annoying (particularly if the design is already bright because you may think you've found the piece you're looking for but it's actually just the back of the design).
That said, the puzzle was quite quick to do, with the text surprisingly being the hardest part to piece together.
I also completed this puzzle for the Global Jigsaw Jubilee, as it has a count of 1500 pieces. While it's not that pretty a design, it was good enough for a spur-of-the-moment purchase to continue the Jubilee while I waited for a pre-ordered puzzle to arrive!
