Sailboat Village
Brand: Cardinal
Pieces: 500
Size: 35.5cm x 27.9cm
Product Code: -
It's autumn here in the southern hemisphere and the days are starting to get colder.
Perfect weather for sitting inside and doing a jigsaw puzzle, that's for sure! Especially when the wind outside is blustery and chilly, and we keep getting rain storms that make you want to avoid going outside.
I decided to do this puzzle to remind me of the slightly warmer months, where a trip to the local marina in beautiful weather can brighten up your day. This puzzle was relatively quick to do, considering all the colour blocks of the buildings. The only part that took some time was working out where each of the buildings in the design were, because there were so many of similar colours! This was a bright and cheery design to complete and the quality of the pieces was excellent.
I wouldn't mind visiting a picturesque place like this in the future!

Derjen- Dancing Girl (Showpiece Lantern)
Brand: Pintoo
Pieces: 192
Size: 9cm x 9cm x 13.8cm
Product Code: Q1040
If you've been following this blog, you will have noticed that the puzzles I tend to post up are usually 2D in format. I occasionally like to do 3D puzzles (if the designs interest me enough), however I am more of a fan of traditional 2D jigsaw puzzles.
For this particular post, I have decided to show one of the Pintoo Showpiece Lanterns that I have completed. I have made up several of their 3D puzzles over the years- they have vases, flowerpots, screens and lanterns in their range, all made up of sturdy plastic pieces in pretty designs.
This particular Showpiece Lantern- Derjen- Dancing Girl, features four pretty images which you piece together in a box style. Included with the puzzle are extra plastic pieces- the base (which holds a battery compartment and switch) and a topper to hold the lantern together, I haven't put any batteries in (it uses 3x AAA batteries, which you need to unscrew the base of to insert), but I imagine that when the lantern is switched on, the slightly opaque plastic would give off a lovely yet dim glow.
Pintoo have released some gorgeous designs over the years and it felt right to put another of their offerings up in today's post. Hope you like it!

Colorful Buildings, Ponzan, Poland
Brand: Puzzlebug
Pieces: 500
Size: 46cm x 28cm
Product Code: -
I have an extensive- borderline ridiculous- amount of jigsaw puzzles in my 'storage' cupboard. I plan on eventually getting through them all and posting them on this blog (and my Instagram account) for you to see.
With so many different designs, you'd think that I would have one that would be relevant for this weekend- Easter! One with rabbits or chocolate or Easter eggs or something! But no- I searched through my entire collection (both at home and at my parents' house) and could find nothing! The one puzzle that I found that featured a bunny was one that I have already posted, Cupcake (Studio Pets By Myrna), and the only chocolate- themed one I could find (but discarded) was an old Cadburys Ad Poster, which I have had for decades and may post up eventually (although I think it is missing a few pieces).
I know that there are puzzles available- I have seen a Disney-themed Easter one from Japan (although I was too late to order it), and Ravensburger have released a chocolate-themed puzzle also. But neither of them are in my collection so, this Easter weekend, I'll just have to forego a themed puzzle...
Since the last few puzzles I have posted have been more brown in colour (something I only realised after looking at my Instagram account), I have decided to post a decidedly brighter puzzle this time round. The buildings in this puzzle are so pretty- it would be amazing to see them in real life. This design was bright and cheerful and actually took me a little longer to do than I expected.
I started out doing the cobblestone road, then worked in colour blocks to complete the dark green building, and the light green building. I then worked the blue, yellow and red buildings, finished the other red one (on the end) and finally, completed the sky. It was much easier to tackle the design in this way. As I mentioned earlier, the design was vibrant, making it a joy to complete.
Although the quality of these Puzzlebug puzzles isn't terribly great (they are cheap to buy after all), they do have some incredibly pretty designs, so I think I will continue to do them...

Disney And Pixar Character Collection
Brand: Tenyo
Pieces: 1000
Size: 51cm x 73.5cm
Product Code: D-1000-383
It's been a while since I posted up a Disney puzzle so what better time than now?!
This awesome puzzle comes from the Japanese masters at Tenyo, who have created a design that features every major Disney and Pixar character from the very beginning until the early 2000s.
Obviously there have been characters created since, but the puzzle doesn't cover those, as it was created before they came out on screen.
However, if you're a fan of Disney, this puzzle will be the ultimate prize in your collection.
The pieces are fantastic quality cardboard, and the design is well set out, with the iconic Steamboat Willie image in the middle, and the rest of the Disney and Pixar characters set out in blocks around it. If you know your characters well, you'll be able to complete this puzzle quite quickly, but it will be no less enjoyable to do.
On the back of the box, there is even a reference to each of the images, although a grasp of the Japanese language will be needed to translate, because none of it is written in English.
This puzzle was a delight to do, and I'm glad I got the opportunity to do it.
