Flame Grilled Burger And Fries

Brand: Puzzlebug

Pieces: 500
Size: 46cm x 28cm
Product Code:  -

Yesterday (May 28) was International Burger Day, so I thought it would be fitting to put up a picture of a burger that I once completed.  This one was by Puzzlebug and the quality was typical for the brand but I thought the image was quite enticing. I must have been hungry when I bought it!

While I have preferences for the brands of puzzle I do (because they have better designs or are better quality), I also love to pick up other, cheaper puzzles just for the image. While the Puzzlebug puzzles are super cheap and often low quality, they have a lot of everyday images that are useful for posts like today. I don't think any of my ordinary puzzle brands would feature a burger puzzle like the one above!

Do you buy cheaper puzzles if it means a variety in design subjects?

Ice Cream Desserts

Brand: Puzzlebug

Pieces: 500
Size: 46cm x 28cm
Product Code:  -

Since my pregnancy began, I have had so many people asking me if I've had any cravings at all- real food or otherwise! I honestly didn't think that I had, until I thought about it more closely and realised that I've been eating (and wanting to eat) a lot more ice cream, sorbet, gelati, etc lately! Despite what my husband believes, I know it's true (he thinks I always wanted it anyway). That's my craving haha

I decided to put this puzzle up to celebrate this realisation, and also because I haven't put up any food ones in a while. This Puzzlebug puzzle was lower quality as expected (they usually are) but I still enjoy most of their designs and imagery. With this one, I was missing two pieces (as you can see in the background and corner) but for some reason there was one extra of another piece? So disappointing but not totally unexpected.. oh well! It's the first time that's happened in a while so I'm not too fussed, especially considering the price of the puzzle!

We'll see what next week brings!

Unicorn Cupcake

Brand: Puzzlebug

Pieces: 100

Size: 22cm x 28cm
Product Code: -

Today's puzzle has been put up for our friends, who are launching their new business today. Their coffee and pastry van business has it's grand opening today, and what better way to celebrate than to put up a puzzle of an incredibly cute unicorn cupcake? I'm not sure if they would be able to make and sell cupcakes with as much detail as the one above, but I'm sure they would taste just as good, if not better! Hopefully the rain will ease and they will have a successful first day!

Coffee

Brand: Colorluxe
Pieces: 1500
Size: 58cm x 84cm
Product Code:  3911

During the week I had to travel to Melbourne for some blood tests at St Vincent's Hospital.

My test was an early 8.30am one (which I had to fast before), but this meant that I had to leave my house at 5.25am to catch the 5.54am train, in order to get there in time.

And because I was fasting, that meant no coffee.

Now, I don't usually rely on coffee to wake me up in the mornings. I just like the taste. But not being able to drink any, while walking the streets of Melbourne to get to the hospital, was a more difficult task than I had anticipated! The smell of freshly brewing coffee was everywhere!

Luckily I was able to get my fix (no, I'm not addicted) not long after the tests were concluded, but as a homage to coffee-lovers everywhere, I have decided to put up this puzzle.

This puzzle was unique, in that the back of the puzzle was colour-coded in sections. This was meant to aid in the sorting of pieces so that the puzzle could be completed more easily. Although I mostly ignored this, it did help on occasions when there were similar colours (like browns and tans) that could be situated almost anywhere in the design. It could also be a tad frustrating though, especially when you thought you had found a particular colour (like blue for example), and it was actually a blue-backed piece, rather than part of the design background.

I quite enjoyed doing this puzzle. The collage-style was engaging and there were many points of interest within the design. It certainly helped cheer me up after my coffee deprivation!

Apples And Spice And Everything Nice

Brand: Puzzlebug
Pieces: 500
Size: 46cm x 28cm
Product Code: -

This was a nice little food-inspired jigsaw puzzle to do. Relatively quick and easy, with plenty of bright colours to differentiate the sections, I was able to do this one over several nights, a few hours at a time.

If you know someone who's a bit of a foodie, or likes their apples, then this is the one for them!
