Winter Walk

Brand: Bluebird

Pieces: 300
Size:  47.75cm x 34.29cm

Product Code: F-90803

Over the last few weeks we've definitely started to feel the winter chill approaching... and the sad thing is, it's still Autumn! (until tomorrow anyway haha)

In recognition of the cooler months ahead, I have decided to put up this cute puzzle that I purchased from an online store overseas. I absolutely adored the image when I saw it (even though my husband insists that it's an AI-generated image). Honestly, I agree with him, but that still doesn't detract from the cuteness of the design. This puzzle was 300 pieces but when made up, was about the same size as a standard 500 piece puzzle. It was relatively quick to do and the quality was good.

I have done a few Bluebird puzzles in various count sizes, and have plenty more in my collection to do- they have never disappointed me to date.

Are there any brands that you like the look of and are keen to try?

Taurus

Brand: Cobble Hill

Pieces: 500
Size:  67.6cm x 48.9cm

Product Code: 45012

Well I've finally gotten around to the Zodiac series again, and only a few days past the dates for Taurus. I hope to be more up to date for the next one! I'm a Taurus and I believe the characteristics for the star-sign are quite accurate - you won't find anyone as stubborn as me! haha! I've enjoyed doing this series and look forward to posting the rest of the designs as they come up throughout the year.

In the meantime, there's been a bit of puzzling news - the Australian Jigsaw Puzzle Association (AJPA) yesterday released presale tickets for the Victorian State Competition to be held at Malvern Town Hall on August 9. Did you get your ticket? I bought mine pretty much as soon as they went on sale, and apparently over 60% of the solo competition tickets were sold in the first 2 hours! Crazy! But good! I'm really looking forward to it - the event has been so fun over the last few years...

In other news, Reverie Puzzles just had another launch this morning with more beautiful designs released. Make sure you check it out!

Until next week...

Beetlejuice VHS

Brand: Aquarius

Pieces: 300
Size:  25cm x 36cm

Product Code: -

Once again, I'm a bit behind in the postings of my Cobble Hill Zodiac puzzles. I've completed a few of them but I haven't had the chance to take photos of them yet. It has been dark every time I have left the house for work in the morning, and dark on my return, so I haven't taken ANY puzzle photos lately, unfortunately. I'll have to try and take some this weekend so I can catch up on my posting.

In the meantime, I have decided to put up the above puzzle. It would have been better suited to next weekend because that's when I will be going to Melbourne to see the musical, but I've had to bring it forward.

I only saw the original Tim Burton film a few weeks ago, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the film is portrayed on stage- it was so weird and wonderful! Haha! This puzzle was fairly quick to do and came in a cool VHS-style case (which is what drew my attention to it in the first place).

Have you got many puzzles that have interesting packaging or do you prefer your puzzles to come in a more traditional box?

Inseparable Cat And Kitten

Brand: Enjoy Puzzles

Pieces: 1000
Size:  68cm x 48cm

Product Code: 2122

Tomorrow is Mother's Day and it's also my birthday, so what better puzzle to put up than a cute cat and her kitten!

I did this puzzle a little while ago and it was the first time I had done a puzzle from the Enjoy brand. It was such a pleasure to do and I've done one or two since. The quality is amazing and the colours are always so vibrant.

I don't really have a lot of time to write much more cos I have to get ready to go to Melbourne, but I hope you enjoy the image I have put up and I'll get back to you next week with something new!

Vintage Knitting & Crochet

Brand: Ravensburger

Pieces: 1000
Size:  70cm x 50cm

Product Code: 176205

Autumn is here and the days are starting to get a little cooler, which is why I have decided to post the above puzzle image- colourful wool and knits seemed like the perfect choice.

I loved the bright and vibrant colours in this design, as well as the throwbacks to vintage knitting patterns and retro photography. Even though knitting and crocheting are crafts I have yet to master, I am still fascinated by the process and would love to one day sit down and teach myself properly. I have attempted both a few times but other projects have always come along and I've set the learning aside to do those instead. One day!

Is there a particular craft or hobby you enjoy doing besides jigsaw puzzles? Have you found a cross-over where you can do a jigsaw puzzle based on that craft or hobby? Let me know!
