Bunnings Warehouse 2020

Brand: Mr Bob Puzzles

Pieces: 141
Size: 40cm x 30cm

Product Code: -

I know this puzzle is titled with the year 2020, but really, not much has changed when it comes to the glorious Australian hardware store mecca that is Bunnings Warehouse. Mr Bob Puzzles released this puzzle as a limited edition and I was able to pick up a copy via Facebook Marketplace. I only really bought it for the chance to say that I have owned and completed it!

This puzzle is wooden and the quality is excellent as expected from this wonderful Australian small business.

Mr Bob Puzzles are cut and created in Western Australia, and are produced to the highest quality standard. They feature whimsy pieces relevant to the subject matter (in this case, handyman tools) and the colours and fit are excellent. I was extremely happy to be able to get a hold of this puzzle.

Pieces: 500
Size: 61cm x 45.7cm

Must I really say more?

As soon as I saw this image (and the other 2 in the collection) I knew I had to do it. I love these modern illustrations (and the messages that they impart). Happily, the quality of the colours, as well as the piece fit, were really good.

Don't you love cheaply priced puzzles that still deliver on quality and style?!

1980's Montage

Brand:
 Tilbury

Pieces: 1000
Size: 69cm x 50cm

Product Code: 019543

Isn't it funny how some people have particular months of the year where there is an influx of birthdays happening? My month is June (and a bit of July too), where most of my family members celebrate a birthday. It can become a very expensive time each year when you have to sort out birthday presents. It can also be a very full-on time with celebrations and cake!

Luckily most of that has died down for the year now, but there are still a few friends whose birthdays are approaching. I work with people of all ages (from 20 years old and up), but most of the people I have celebrated birthdays with recently were born during (or close to) the 80's, which is why I've decided to put up this puzzle. I was born in 1987 so I didn't really experience it properly but most of the images in the above montage are familiar.

I love the above design and the way it was put together. It was such a fun puzzle to do and the quality was excellent.

What year were you born? Have you done a puzzle to commemorate that year?

Renewal

Brand: Hardie Grant

Pieces: 1000
Size: 68.5cm x 49cm

Product Code: -

This week we are embracing NAIDOC Week, which is an Australian observance that runs from the first Sunday in July to the following Sunday. NAIDOC is an acronym that stands for National Aboriginal and Islanders Day Observance Committee, and this week is used to celebrate the history, culture and achievements of people with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage.

I have decided to put up this puzzle to commemorate the event, which features the artwork of Lakkari Pitt (Gamilaroi Yuwaalaraay). Her work is so beautiful and I love the vibrant colours, even if they aren't the traditional colours of Aboriginal artwork.

This puzzle was a pleasure to do, and quite challenging in parts. I'm disappointed my photo isn't able to capture the full vibrancy of the design (unfortunately it was a bit dark when I took this photo). I also have a few other 'modern' Aboriginal design puzzles which I can't wait to tackle at some point. Have you got any puzzles in your collection which follow a similar style?

Ford Mustang- Evolution

Brand: Eurographics

Pieces: 1000
Size: 48.89cm x 67.63cm

Product Code: 6000-0684

If I had to pick a favourite classic car, I would have to go for the Ford Mustang. The old designs are just so timeless, and the newer versions look just as good! One of my friends has an old one that he has done up and it looks absolutely amazing- worth a small fortune now too, but I don't think he'd ever willingly sell it!

The closest I'll ever get to these babies are puzzles, and that's why I thoroughly enjoyed putting this one together. The quality was exceptional, and as usual, I learnt a little bit about the car's history, thanks to the Eurographics educational theme.
