Vintage Collection Ladybird ABC

Brand: Lagoon
Pieces: 500
Size: 45cm x 45cm
Product Code: 3767

So I thought, being the Easter long weekend that I might put up a puzzle that is symbolic of the holiday. You know, a puzzle that features chocolate, or the Easter Bunny, or even some sort of religious icon... Turns out I don't have any! (I'll have to remedy that before next Easter rolls around!)

The only concession I could make was this puzzle, which I did long ago, and which features a rabbit as the representative for R. How sad that this was all I had...

This puzzle was quite easy and quick to do, especially when sorted into coloured blocks, and the quality was alright, although I have done similar puzzles of a better cardboard sturdiness. You really get the vintage feels with this puzzle...

Anyway, have a Happy Easter and I'll see you next week. Hopefully next year's offering will be a tad more interesting!

Seljalandsfoss Waterfall, Southern Iceland

Brand: Heye Puzzle
Pieces: 1000
Size: 70cm x 50cm
Product Code: 29769

Today I thought I'd put up a scenic puzzle for a change- here is a lovely scene from Southern Iceland, brought to you in puzzle form from Heye Puzzles. Part of the Alexander Von Humboldt collection, this puzzle was given to me for Christmas from my brother-in-law. I think he expected me to take longer to do it than I actually did! Despite all the details in the rocks, sky, land and water, it only took me a few days (with large gaps of time in between) to complete.

This image is absolutely stunning, and made me wish I could see it in person- if the photo looks this good, imagine how it would look in real life! The quality of the pieces was outstanding (as expected for Heye) and the colours are vibrant (as you can see from the photo taken).

Another top puzzle from this puzzle powerhouse!

The Scream by Edvard Munch

Brand: Wentworth Wooden Puzzles
Pieces: 40
Size: 12.5cm x 8.7cm
Product Code: 720704

I thought I'd put up something a little different this week- a puzzle of smaller dimensions, size and style than I usually do.

This is a wooden puzzle I came across at my local store last year. It's only tiny- as you can see by the size above- and only has 40 pieces, but it was quite expensive, as each piece is cut from wood. They're not just standard-shaped pieces either- there were a few cool ones in there, representative of the 'artist', which I've included in a photo below.

There are a whole range of artworks and artists represented in this brand, and I also bought another at the same time, although that will be on this blog at a later date.

It's always good to branch out a little and see what else is on offer- this is it :)

Moana

Brand: Tenyo
Pieces: 1000
Size: 51cm x 73.5cm
Product Code: D-1000-475

During the week it was International Women's Day, a day where women around the world are celebrated for all that they can and will achieve throughout their lives. In commemoration of this, I decided to put up a puzzle of one of Disney's newest (and strongest) female characters- Moana.

If you haven't seen this movie, then I highly recommend it- the characters are funny, easy to relate to, and their islander ways are a breath of fresh air compared to some of the more traditional Disney characters of years past.

This puzzle, produced by Japanese brand Tenyo, was quite easy to do until you got to the waves that surround Moana. While it wasn't difficult to differentiate between the shades of blue, it did slow me down a little in terms of time to complete the puzzle- which is to be expected! The quality of this puzzle was, of course, outstanding and the design is beautiful.

Perfect for adult fans of the film who want something a little more than the usual 200 or so piece puzzles that are generally produced for children....

Pets Rock Fame

Brand: MB Puzzle (Crown)
Pieces: 1000
Size: 45.7cm x 60.9cm
Product Code: -

I decided to put up something a little different today- a puzzle from the Pets Rock franchise that has come about from social media. I found this puzzle (as well as the film and music versions) at Big W, and was fascinated with how they managed to 'dress' the cats and dogs to look like famous icons and celebrities. It was quite disturbing to realise that I recognised most of the 'people' from just a few choice outfits!

The above puzzle is quite easy to do if you sort by each individual outfit or pet colour. The pieces are relatively small, and I was able to fit the entire puzzle on a piece of cardboard (which is sometimes difficult for puzzles over 500 pieces). The pieces fit together quite well but I'm unsure how well it would go if there were large expanses of the same colour to put together.

I already have the other two in this 'series' so it's only a matter of time before I put them up as well. But I don't want to have a Pets Rock overload (the pictures creep me out a little sometimes) so I might wait a bit before posting the next one!
