I'm not sure if you've ever experienced this... You see an image and for some reason just can't get it out of your head. It crops up now and again and, each time, your thoughts on the image are renewed and you once again want to get a hold of it. 

This was the case for the above illustrated puzzle by Esther Gili. 

I'm not sure what it was about the design that made me want to purchase it and complete it so much but every time I saw it, it would end up in my cart. One day, I just bit the bullet and decided to buy it.  

This image gives me such Stranger Things vibes - not a bad thing!

The above puzzle was a lot more challenging than expected, due to the watercolour illustration aspect of the design. Once I had completed the image of the girl, it took the process of elimination to work out most of the background and border. While the pieces were quite loose (you could not do that pick-up test with this puzzle, it would fall to pieces), they at least fit properly and so there were no false fits. It was an experience of trial and error to get the background done. But how stunning is it when it's finally finished?!

The Marvellous World Of Disney II

I just realised that I'm not going to be around tomorrow morning and as I usually do my posts then, I won't be able to put anything up! I will be leaving on an early flight to Sydney for the weekend so I'm quickly going to put up a puzzle now to make up for it. A bit out of the ordinary I know, but oh well!

I was hoping I had a pic of a Sydney puzzle complete (as that's the destination) but unfortunately I'm all out of those at the moment. So instead I have put up an Educa Disney image. This puzzle features a lot of characters from across the Disney franchise, and I purchased it from a British website. 

The pieces were a relatively loose fit but the design is busy and fun. 

That's all for this week and hopefully my posting schedule will be all back to normal from next week onwards. 

Bon Voyage

As of last night, Melbourne was officially able to re-join the rest of Victoria with the end of Covid lockdown restrictions. This has come as a relief to so many, who will now be able to visit family and friends, get back to their businesses (although there are still restrictions surrounding this) and help to ease the strain on the tourism and hospitality sectors. It was even better timing considering that many people will be celebrating the Melbourne Cup long weekend, so they'll be able to travel to regional Victoria and get away from home for a few days.

To commemorate this moment, I have put up a photo of a puzzle I completed called Bon Voyage, featuring a kombi and bits of travel/ beach paraphernalia. This puzzle was fun to do and of fantastic quality. It was the first Educa one I had done in a while, so that made it even more of a joy to complete.

I would have loved to put up a puzzle celebrating all things spooky for Halloween but surprisingly, I had nothing in my collection! Might have to look into that for next year!

Marvel Heroes - The Closeups

As you may be aware, I recently posted up my puzzle photo of Marvel Heroes.

Featuring many of Marvel's most popular characters, the puzzle features a mind-explosion of superheroes- a collection you're unlikely to see unless you stumble upon a Marvel-themed comic convention in the near future.

Who doesn't love a superhero? I've long been a Marvel fan, and when I saw that this puzzle was available, I just had to do it! Featuring pretty much every Marvel character from the comic books, this puzzle was a fun challenge. There's plenty to look at as you're piecing it together, and you can easily work by colour or character. 

This puzzle would make the perfect gift for any fan of the franchise...
